So Unleashed were about $20 and they were larger and they want us to pay $50. Nope. I think Disney is trying to fleece fans to pay off their investment. A lot of SW merchandise is getting jacked. A regular GG mini bust is about $120 now! Somehow in 15 years they more than doubled the price.

  • MellowVelo27

This is an awful way to spend $50 whether this is a great piece or not.

  • Bob Villa

ok, obviously we got some Hasbro people coming in here peddling their wares…

Its really not complicated at all.

All Hasbro as to do is this:

-Do a TVC SA run to please the collector’s camp.

-Do whatever else they want to do to test other waters at the same time.

Once the season is done they can see whatever sells the most and give out the numbers to people and if TVC fails in numbers then the onus would have to be put on collecting fans for sales failure on TVC but it would need to be real TVC like we got, not some hybrid line.

“Provided” that Hasbro actually provides good distribution to both side of the market and provided that they are transparent about the numbers.

ROTJ Throne Room Lighted Duel set will be awesome. I’m sure that will be one of them.

And don’t worry, Hasbro know’s that the whining on all these sites mean’s nothing at all when in the last year the Star Wars Toy line was the most profitable on the Planet. They are making more money now, than they ever have. I guess most of the People that just want 3in Fig’s all the time must have tiny little “Trump” Hands to play with them.

    • Paulskywalker

Yeah because what Hasbro says and does are two different things. The time things sit on shelves and the amount of stuff that ends up on sale is very telling. Also ‘toy line’ these are statues.

  • All that hard work that the artists put into sculpting and designing these figures…I hope they dont read the comments on these collector/fan sites. No doubt it would be disheartening.

    • General Hux

Too bad for them!! They have to feel the wrath of people incessantly whining about toys!!! It’s so mature!

      • Oh yesa! Its what we do!! We wouldnt be who we are if we didnt whine over a few ounces of plastic (or diecast). Someone on another comment section was SO angry about it that they referred to it as “pig iron!”

    • But just think if they just put all that effort and work in to products that folks actually wanted… they’d be getting accolades and hi-fives wouldn’t they.

      • Well thats what I mean. They are doing good work either way, but just because the collectors didnt get exactly what they wanted, suddenly their work is crap and an utter waste. Thats a shame. The die cast figures look interesting and I really love the idea of the little vignette display. This “Unleashed” Hoth Luke looks amazing. Neither is something I would collect, but Im not going nuclear because of it, nor am I saying any one person is…but collectively, collectors are loosing their heads over these reveals and its just stupid.

        • Bombadgungan

Agreed. If these were from Gentle Giant and it were a few years ago, fans would be raving about them. But because it’s Hasbro making them and fans’ expectations are… well, we all know what fans’ expectation are, then these are automatically designated “crap”. I don’t hate them by any means, but these just aren’t anything I am interested in owning/collecting at the moment. Overall I am a bit let down by the announcement only because I was really hoping for something exciting that I couldn’t wait to buy.

      • Xo Tica

Don’t blame the sculptors , blame the bean counters.

  • Gloriouscollector

Remember, per Hasbro’s new sales methods, $50 is the ridiculous initial asking price before the retailers start offering deals to move the bulk of them out. Im sure you’ll see these @ $25 easy.

  • Andrew

Per Steve Evans on Facebook: “6” dynamically posed statue on a light-up environment base that also accepts our articulated TBS6″ figs. — Now you can help create the unseen scene where Luke makes his way to his X-Wing after he downed the AT-AT.” https://www.facebook.com/groups/307887969383085/permalink/659086940929851/?comment_id=659267444245134&comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R%22%7D

  • Josh Wanty

    I’m sooooooooo sick of 6″ stuff……….

    • Gloriouscollector

As am I, my good sir , AS AM I

    • Jesus’s Best Friend Floyd

Get on the train or get run over!

  • Dennis Musgraves

I will be passing on these

  • General Hux

    YES!!!!!!! Give me Boba Fett….Now.

    • General Hux

      Heck, that price though!

The one they put out in 2003 is pretty much as good as you can ask for and it can be lit up from underneath.

    • CT-7567

The Unleashed Boba is awesome. I’m glad I have it because $50 for one figurestatue, when it could be cheaper without the unnecessary electronics, isn’t something I would collect.

  • Paulskywalker

$50! :O0 And what i said in the 3.75 version comments. Hasbro stupid cheap bar stewards.

  • tigersith

Terrible idea! When is hasbro going to learn……..never!

Apparently McFarlane is turning a profit right now on their statutes with articulated arms. So here we go again.

      • CT-7567

Do you mean those Walking Dead statues I keep seeing in Walmart? They do look kinda neat.

  • Indysolo007

That was my favorite scene in Empire. When Luke ignited his lightsaber deflecting laser bolts in front of an at at foot. Oh wait…

If this didn’t cost $50 we could at least canabalize the foot to make Rey’s home.

  • Ty

    $50…Yeah I won’t be buying those

  • BeTa

    Hasbro Sucks

  • RumSleg

So the company with an exclusive license for making Star Wars “action figures” will instead make 3.75″ and 6″ statues this year. Great.

  • Eric Garcia

Looks cool, but I’ll wait until they’re $20 each or just skip them altogether!!! 😉
