I’m at Disneyland now. They have everything out for sale, except the R2-D2 and C-3PO. None of the staff can tell me when it’s coming out. Anyone here know?

  • LaurenceQuint

The Chopper loks great. Can’t wait to mix and match protocol parts next time I’m at the park. Great idea, Disney!!

  • Faust

    SA K-2SO parts next, please.

  • mooslug

Very happy to see R5-P8 at last.
Anyone know why they’re re-doing R2-C2? It was already released in the EE set last year, and on the more articulated body to boot.

    • Since Disney makes these, not Hasbro, there wasn’t any coordination as far as what characters were being made. It’s a simple coincidence.

      • mooslug

Ahh thanks, just did some reading and see what you mean. Always assumed the Disney droids were made by Hasbro and rebranded but looks like that’s not the case (just same molds for first 2 series). Learn something new everyday!

  • General Hux

    Bravo Disney, bravo.

  • CT-7567

Is that the red droid in the picture?

  • Lloyd Wynn

40th anniversary is starting! Hope we get at least a fully articulated Leia Organa. Others could be MODL NODS, General Dodonna, Aunt Beru, Wuher.

    • Paul B

Uncle Owen or does the visionaries Darth Maul /Uncle Owen comic book two pack count as an Ep IV Uncle Owen?

      • Mike Robinson

It’s pretty close. The comic pack version has a different color shirt than the film and some people say he looks a little younger than he should, but it would be close enough for me if I could find one for a decent price!

R-3DO in The Force Awakens to the right of Leia.

  • Doog

Glad to see that R5-P8 has his dome cannon.

Does anyone know where R-3DO is from? Totally made up, right? A quick internet search just returned something from World of Warcraft that is definitely not this droid.

    • Littlegreenwiseguy

R-3DO is allegedly in The Force Awakens somewhere.

  • Indysolo007

Dear Disney, keep this up and keep getting our money over Hasbro. If you’re taking requests, a realistic 3.75 inch Rebels team and Ghost ship would be well received.

    • Rivesjunctionite

A BMF Ghost with a Starspeeder pricetag would be amazing.

      • Littlegreenwiseguy

If done to proper scale for 3.75″ figures, the “Big Ghost” would be at least 2/3 larger than the Big Millenium Falcon. Cool but muy muy expensive.

        • Rivesjunctionite

          Bring it on

        • Rivesjunctionite

It’s not like I’m spending my collecting budget on Hasbro items

      • CT-7567

Yup. Their prices are usually fair. A lot more than Hasbro. They would have sold that Starspeeder for well over $100.

        • Paul B

          Yup
I’m positive that the only reason that scene exists was to insert it into the ride.
They are all waving at the camera
Just watch when Star Tours gets another update to the destinations. You’ll land at the resistance base and they’ll wave at you !

        • Rivesjunctionite

They would have made it respond to your smart phone and charged $300.

  • Like A Bossk

Looks like disney is sending a reminder to hasbro about what a line can look like if disney decided to carry their money monster when 2020 hits. This has win written all over it.

  • RumDumb

    Yes!

  • mic windu

wow Disney are stepping up, protocol droid sculpt looks great, chopper looks awesome, so Hasbro are you going to tell them that kids aren’t interested in articulation and extra accessories…?

  • SID

“real” SW Figures… Take that Hasbro, you didn’t even try vintage package on classic scale!

  • PeakOB1

    TAKE MY MONEY!!!!

  • Paul

Oh man I want that chopper!!

  • RumSleg

That Chopper just became the thing I most hope to buy at Celebration! Wow!

    • TatooineSandworm

You should be able to buy it off the Disney Parks app soon! No need to leave your house!

      • RumSleg

        Even better! Thanks. 🙂

I’m only thinking of perhaps buying it at Celebration because maybe there’s a small chance it’s one thing I won’t have to spend all day in line to get, unlike seemingly every other exclusive and panel…

    • Rivesjunctionite

I’ll see you in line 😉

      • RumSleg

Are you on the Rebelscum forums? I’ll send you a PM. We can trade contact info and exchange tips at the con.

  • Rykrof_Enloe

So, I see much more articulation in the protocol droid than expected. That’s awesome.

The more of Disney making products like this, the better as far as I’m concerned. And Chopper looks damn awesome.

Can we convince Disney to start making 3.75″ playsets? That would make the world a much happier place.

    • Disney really crushed it with these offerings. The Chopper may be my favorite.

      • Like A Bossk

I’m feeling the same good feeling about this.

      • CT-7567

Ikr. It has everything. I bet the arm in his body moves and his radar dish is articulated. He’s perfect.

        • Bombadgungan

I wonder why the spare leg. Maybe to recreate that one episode where he’s chasing down a spare? What do you suppose that gray piece is below the spare leg?

    • LaurenceQuint

Considering that Disney made the terrific Starspeeder vehicle, they should branch out and make even more stuff. Playset/diorama pieces would be awesome.
