Great Hasbro Booth Images

Our friends at Jediinsider.com have posted some great SDCC pics for your viewing pleasure, showing off some of Hasbro’s new offerings… check them out here!

Personal Note:  Seems like what we saw today is leaning in the right direction again for the 3.75″ brand.  Who can’t be happy with that new 3.75″ scale Wampa?  Or Probe Droid?  Many of us in our forums have been pushing for those quite a bit the past 2 years, so maybe Hasbro actually IS listening more now (like they indicated in panels and interviews today)?

  • Big Rich

Jesus…the amount of money I will be spending on this stuff

  • PeakOB1

When are these 3.75 items available? Next year?

    • Tom P.

      Force Friday most likely.

      • PeakOB1

That would be cool, in addition to episode 8 stuff, cool beans

  • Firestick User

Hasbro isn’t resetting the vintage collection to #1?

    • Nope, picking up where they left off in 2012.

  • Paulskywalker

I know Hasbro said the alternate heads on the rebel troopers in the diorama won’t be included with the figure. Bit considering some of the helmets have aerials, I’m Hoping there will be a variant later on with the different head and helmet. Also looking at the image of the assault tank in pieces, I notice the panels under the cargo containers are seperate parts. I wonder if they’ll be removable for storage compartments or a deeper section.

    • bmales01

Yazflow would be foolish to not re-release troopers with different heads. Like the non-bearded Hoth trooper

      Hint Hint Yazflow.

  • Rob Redahl

    That Yoda is awfully cute.

  • Rivesjunctionite

I’m way more excited about the rathtar than the wampa. I thought the last wampa was fine. I will skip this one.

    • bmales01

      I’m excited about anything OT

      • CT-7567

Do you plan on getting the Wampa and Probe Droid? I didn’t think you got 5poa stuff.

        • bmales01

Yes, although I have no interest in the Luke or Vader pack-in, the Wampa looks to be basically SA (neck, elbows, hips, knees and ankles). I need to see the Probot up close before I buy though

          • CT-7567

It looks like the Probot is rather static and small. I definitely like the Qui-Gon and Maul set. Have you seen a pic of the 5poa Emperor? We DEFINITELY need a new, SA Emperor in TVC.

          • bmales01

the Probot’s arms could be articulated. will need to see/wait for Paul’s review before purchasing

The other 5POA figs do absolutely nothing for me. Slowly returning technology we had 20 years ago is not a gift, its insulting

          • Rykrof_Enloe

The RS pic here shows some enhanced arm articulation:

I think this probe droid looks awesome

          • bmales01

            then it shall be mine

I will have some extra 5POA pack-in stuff to give away later this year 🙂

          • RumSleg

I’ll send you my address so you can mail me the Luke and Vader pack-ins. 🙂

          • bmales01

you got it. I dont want them anywhere near my SA figs.

    • Rykrof_Enloe

I like the Rathtar toy too – funny, because not so much in the movie.

I think a new 3.75″ Wampa is far overdue, personally. Very glad they made a new version rather than rehashing the old mold again. That mold is 15 years old nad the probe droid over 20 years! Wow.

      • General Hux

I like that old Probe Droid but it desperately needed an update.

        • CT-7567

I plan on getting all three. You?

          • General Hux

Oh yeah, definitely getting all three.

          • CT-7567

Do you think they’ll be $19.99? I got a really good look at Bala-Tik in the close-up pic Justin posted above. I’m actually liking that figure more now. Vader and Luke are just “meh”, imo, because I already have 5poa versions. Luke looks like the MS release(with a possible ball-jointed head as you pointed out). Vader is, well, another 5poa Vader. But the actual Wampa and Probe Droid look great.

          • General Hux

I would think $19.99 and I’m completely fine with that.

          • Rykrof_Enloe

I believe $24.99 is the MSRP. That seems fair for the Rathtar and Wampa set. Probe droid might not seem like such a fair price though.

          • RumSleg

I’d pay $24.99 for the Wampa set. $24.99 seems a little high for the Rathtar and Probe Droid. Hopefully one of the big retailers has a FF sale.

          • General Hux

That’s completely fair for the Rathtar and Wampa…A little too much for my liking with the Probe.

    • Mother_Talzin

Rathtar is my fav too, I’m cool with the old Wampa and Probe Droid, but I may end up buying them. One of the great things about the Rathtar is that its NEW, not a rehash that’s been done before.

    • CT-7567

It feels like heresy, but I kind of feel the same way. I have every Wampa ever released by Kenner or Hasbro. The Rathtar is new. I’ll still get the Wampa, though. Edit- Except the 12″ Wampa from POTF2.

    • RumSleg

For whatever random reason, I’ve never had a Wampa in my collection. (Never had a Rancor either until that Black Series Jabba’s Dungeon from TRU went on deep clearance.) So I’m excited for this Wampa. We get a lot of snow where we live, and my son will make good use of the Wampa outside this winter. 🙂

  • dlauthor

Argh. 3.75″ version of gas station attendant Leia, please.

  • Ben Bonstein

$80 for the assault tank… holy cow. I dunno. Pretty cool that they’re bringing some of that stuff back but I know I’d rather put that toward one of the 6″ speeders or dewback. Guess I’ll know for sure when I see it and know how much $ I’ll have. Does it bother anyone else that the logo on Aphra’s card says “Legends”? I was under the impression that was a title used strictly for old EU content only. It’s a nitpick, obvi, but since it’s all supposed to be the same continuity nowadays, I’d think it’d say something more like “Marvel’s Darth Vader”. Very cool stuff, overall. 6″ Rey and General Leia are do or die figures. If those aren’t part of my collection, I have failed.

    • Rivesjunctionite

I’d sooner pay $80 for the hovertank than $300 for the NERF-AT.

      • Thats the spirit!

      • CT-7567

Well said. I got the U-wing and TIE Striker in clearance for $20 each. The Striker could’ve been a much better ship if not for the nerf gun. I still like it, but if it had a rear cockpit and landing gear in the place of the nerf gun I would have gotten it at full price.

    • Rykrof_Enloe

If they do the tank justice, it sounds like $80 will be fair. I know it’s a lot of money, but I’d rather pay $80 for a great one than $40 for one that is underscaled, flimsy plastic and nerf features. Which is what would have happened had they released it for Rogue One.

Not worried about the logo on Aphra, as an opener at least none of that matters. Steve Evans also clarified that it was just his mistake in his haste getting the slide together.

I totally agree the General Leia looks amazing. Hope the final product looks as good.

      • CT-7567

Agreed. I love that tank and the skirmish scene from RO. Plus it’s a completely new vehicle. The TBS AT-ST was an easy pass at $60, mostly because I already have it. Using the AT-ST as comparison, $20 more for that tank seems reasonable. If anything the AT-ST should’ve been less. I had a feeling Hasbro released that vehicle to test the waters for collector-focused vehicles. Interest in them and cost. The AT-ST sold at first, but now it’s just sitting there waiting for clearance. I might’ve gotten it for $40. I got TVC one for $35. So yeah, $80 sounds right for the tank.

      • General Hux

$80? Thats a great price IMO.
