TLJ Breakdown: 3.75″ Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer

As we gather more info regarding the details of the products for Force Friday’s launch of merchandise for The Last Jedi, let’s continue our look at some of the figures and vehicles and focus on  the 3.75″ Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer

First off, it just looks cool. It’s as if The Tumbler, The Bat and a TIE Interceptor made sweet plastic love. The vehicle is on the large side but scale sticklers may yet balk, though like the A-wing, the proportions do not look skewed. The included Kylo Ren enters the cockpit via a single (one piece) hatch – hinged at the back. From what I can see, the cockpit seems roomy enough (for one) so average height figures should fit without issue. On the outboard sides of the wings (opposite of where they attach to the fuselage) there are two projectile launchers – one on each wing – that look to pop out from each side when activated.

Here’s where things may go rotten in D’Qar.  Due to the thin wings, especially the tips where the cannons are located, I can see warpage. It could be the angle in which I’m seeing the ship but prepare thyself just in case.

Priced at $49.99 with a figure seems like a decent deal especially if the new Force Link tech lives up to my optimistic expectations. As of now, no decent hi-res images have turned up for this but I’d expect something to go public in the next few days.

These product breakdowns are awesome, Jayson. Thanks for taking the time. 🙂

GIVE IT TO ME. FEED ME THE TIE FIGHTERS. FEED THEM ALL TO ME. EVERY TIE FIGHTER.

  • General Hux

Preparing thyself to pay way too much money come midnight of September 1st.

    • Rivesjunctionite

Nah. Next day. Amazon. I’m too old for that crap.

      • General Hux

I like going the night of, always nice interactions with fellow collectors, but there’s also an infestation of scalpers around me so it’s not fun when those dudes by 10 of the same figure.

        • Rivesjunctionite

I’d be amazed I’d any store got ten of the same figure.

          • General Hux

Last year TRU was packed with Rogue One figures, there was over 10 of each. Hopefully that’s the case with this year.

      • FireFox91

Same here. I want to the midnight release for the TFA stuff and was wholly disappointed. Not everything was there that should have been. Prices were full retail where sales could be had less than a week later. And they always hold these damn things on a Thursday night just so they can give it a cool name like “Force Friday”. Ah yeah, some of us work on Friday mornings. What’s wrong with “Star Wars Saturday”?

    • Brian Beck

I had to already warn/tell my credit card co. that I’m spending a lot that night, so they don’t put a hold on it again.

  • Darth Lindstrom

Are the projectile launchers for nerf darts?

    • Missiles not Nerf. No vehicles are incorporating Nerf tech for TLJ

      • Darth Lindstrom

        Thank the maker!

      • General Hux

        And whiny men babies rejoice!!

        • 80sRobot

The U-Wing was vastly under-scaled (1:43), but as a “pure” toy, it’s a really neat and fun NERF shooter vehicle.

          • Boba Fettuccini

I personally really enjoyed the nerf features. it would have been nice if they were slightly less conspicuous.

      • Rivesjunctionite

        Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!
How shall I torture the cat?

      • bmales01

Question about the Force Link technology: Is there a separate chip/base like with the old tech, is the chip embedded in the fig, or is there just a sensor in the fig that activates the Force Link bracelet (or whatever it is)?

  • Rivesjunctionite

I’ll take warpage over shrinkage any day.

    • GIBBS v2

Mine always warps before it shrinks, I thought that was normal.

      • Rivesjunctionite

Well, see a doctor if it shrinks for more than five hours.

        • General Hux

          Hmmm…

          • bmales01

            Earmuffs Hux. Earmuffs

          • General Hux

            Of course!! (Not) 😉

    • 80sRobot

      That’s what she said.

Thank you, I’ll be performing the rest of this week here at the cantina.

  • Hazzbro Jonez

but i don’t want that kind of love-making in my star wars vehicles. the tumblr was kind of cool, but the bat was just ludicrous IMO

  • FN-GZ

Was that last sentence a tease at official pictures of the figures within the next few days? I sure hope so.

  • Ryan M

I would love to get this and hang from some wire on the ceiling…what exactly is the ForceLink?

    • FN-GZ

Hello again! Its a little device that you put on your wrist that reads chips. Each figure has a chip on the bottom of their foot(I think that’s where it is anyway), and this device will read the chip and then play a sound effect that corresponds with that particular figure. I’d imagine it would play voice lines, blaster sounds, lightsaber sounds, etc. And it sounds like the new vehicles also have chips that the forcelink will be able to read, which is pretty cool.

      • Ryan M

So much like the Episode One thing…I can’t wait to hear the speculations that rise from what each figure says and why until the movie comes out lol. The talking Phasma helmet had people thinking she was going to be a big plot point and ended up being a nothing.

        • FN-GZ

I wouldn’t be surprised if they used lines that aren’t in the movie. I think the Phasma helmet had lines from the movie, but the talking Kylo Ren figure didn’t. If I remember correctly, that is. Perhaps they won’t want to give anything away. I’m excited to hear the force link sounds either way.

          • Ryan M

Kids will like it…and really I feel like that is what the basic line is more geared towards.

          • FN-GZ

            Very true.

          • Boba Fettuccini

Toys geared at children? What a novel idea.

  • Lord Toys

Sounds like it should fit in nicely and Semi Properly Scaled, getting more excited for this Force Friday compared to the last two…

  • SteveU1

I just hope it isent to small. Im fine with not full scale at 49.99 but at least let people be able To fit a figure in it

    • 80sRobot

I could see that this scale will be just large enough to shove the Kylo figure into it from the back. But when you look into it through the front cockpit, his head will be pressed against the top, lol

  • russ

I’m still very hopeful these vehicles will be better than tfa and ro. cant wait to see this bb8/star destroyer. I really hope its a nice diorama piece.
