There is Another… Playset… sort of

As we speculated a couple weeks ago, there is a version of the BB-8 2-in-1 Mega Playset that includes the Force Link bracelet. We’ve seen the version without the bracelet leaked via Amazon.es but now you can see the second version in alternate packaging has leaked out and is on-shelf at Target via an Instagram post from ToyThugShow (swipe left on the Instagram image to see it.)

Thanks to @Jord3217 on Twitter for the heads-up.

save your money-the BMF will be coming back for the Han Solo movie-if not then D and H are truly lost as to what is wanted-they will charge 300$ and I will pay it!

  • Chris Cooke

Just look at all the cool poses you can put your action figures in! … No wait, 5POA, never mind

  • General Hux

This set is growing on me, just need to see a little more before I’m completely sold on it.

It would make a good Christmas present. Do you think you’ll get the Force Link device? If I got the playset, I’d get the bracelet separately to get the Kylo figure.

  • 80sRobot

So without the Force Link bracelet, any guesses as to how much this version of the playset could be?

    • General Hux

My guess is that the $200 version is the the one included with the Force Link and the one without it is cheaper. Maybe around $175.

      • Correct

        • General Hux

I thought something was up because I entered the SKU number you provided for the set and it came up in Walmart’s system as being $175 a few days ago.

          • CT-7567

Nice. That’s a bit better than $200. Too bad they don’t just sell it for $100. From what I’ve seen of it it looks like something we used to get for $100-$120. Like the AT-TE or the TCW Ultimate Battle Pack with Slave I and Mace’s Starfighter.

          • Ryan M

It will be on closeout for around $100 online at some point at BBTS or other places. You will probably find them at Walmart at some point fairly cheap, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Snoke was stolen out of the package…knowing the worm ridden filth that steals at my local shops.

          • 80sRobot

I bet $79 on clearance after Christmas, with the figures missing.

          • CT-7567

Agreed. I’ll probably wait for clearance, but it would make a nice Christmas gift.

      • Rivesjunctionite

So I can get my bracelet for $40 with a Kylo Ren I don’t want, or I can pay an extra $25 to get it with a playset I probably want. That’s surprisingly nice of Hasbro. Especially since the playset will be marked down before Christmas.

  • ronstoneygold

Why does the playset have a thrown for Snoke to sit in when the included Snoke figure will not be able to sit down?

    • 80sRobot

Maybe the figure can be seated on the throne, but there are no knee joints — his legs just stick out?

      • Brando

        bahhahahaahahhaahhaha

    • Ryan M

His legs will just stick out…bahhh dang you Hasbro!!! Bring back something more than 5POA on your figures! We want the Legacy Collection again..same price..better figures!!!!

  • So they finally listen and give us a playset. A $200.00 playset. It’s like they set themselves up to fail. I fear this will be a repeat of the AT-ACT. High price vehicle/playset that hit shelves at clearance prices. Just so Hasbro can say “We told you playsets don’t sell”.

    • It also seems kind of a hard stretch to turn a Star Destroyer into BB-8. Just my opinion, of course.

      • Ryan M

I think the carrying case idea is ok…but I would much rather have a more detailed diorama. Again…for kids playing and taking to a friends house. It is a pretty epic toy.

    • Brando

ill bet people buy the set, return it without the figs inside…

    • Ryan M

The only thing this set has going for it is a HUUUUGE Christmas gift for kids. Any kid who loves Star Wars this will be the equivalent to opening up the old death star back in my day. So I look forward to local yard sales next year lol

    • 80sRobot

I wonder if $99 may be the max price that most parents are willing to pay for a Star Wars toy. $300 for the AT-ACT (which is an excellent toy) may have been way too much. And I wonder if $199 for this Snoke playset is still pushing it.

I think grown-up collectors will pay over $99 for a 3.75″ figure playset or vehicle, but the quality has to be much higher to justify this. But I think the max could still be $250 for this customer.

Is that the set we are more likely to see? Is this one a Target Exclusive? Definately cool artwork on the box.
