Simple Rebel Tech Customs

You may not have realized it, but the new 3.75″ TBS Rose figure is actually an awesome army builder by just doing some head swaps and slapping on some different accessories.

I’ve seen some people not being a huge fan of this figure, but I love it.  The fact that it’s got such diversity is just a bonus.   So, if you happen to see her pegwarming any, keep in mind she’s got fantastic customizing possibilities so you should pick up an extra just for the fun of it (I’ve already got another one in the works, giving the figure a whole new look).

  • Cryptid

Wow. Whitewashing the Asian figure. This is insensitive and somewhat racist.

  • Bombadgungan

Wait! What figure did you use as a base for these? So you’re saying there is another wave of Walmart TBS 3.75″ figures after the Cassian wave? Huh.

  • Lara Marrs Goebel

Great work there. I’ll be on the lookout for some extras to customize. Really want to customize the female bombardier. Great figure, great head sculpt.

  • RumSleg

Those look great. And the body is generic enough that it looks like it could work for male techs, too.

  • LaurenceQuint

Awesome headawaps! I’ll definitely get an extra at some point if I can find it.

I think these would go great with the naboo technician figures (with light modification) from a while back so you can create a whole team of techs and support staff.

I had already started army building myself. Random question. Does anyone know a good place to buy random heads? Or another toy line that fits well with SW figures. Thanks in advance,

    • Brian Beck

that was part of my ‘custom 101’ ideas, if there was “Dollar store X” has their line of ‘action figures’, if they would work kinda thing. 5Below has these “special Forces” 3.75 figures I was thinking about checking out.

  • Brilliant idea! I’ll have to keep it in mind. Thanks!

  • Coleman Miller

2 thumbs up! They look great!

  • Brian Beck

I was already doing this 🙂

Yeah, need to get our “Tutorial Section” updated, and intend to when I have time. Here’s the link for now:

Well that will give me something to read through this weekend. yeah let us know when/if you can start some sort of updated one. I have a Sarlac pit worth of ideas that I have been doing, but never have the proper place to post them-like being creative with garbage-here is a pic of a ‘bubble’ from a 40th Jawa (IIRC) that I turned into one of those Scarif containers–
simple, yes, but I like showing some ‘out of the box’ ways of turning things into other things, with what would be thrown out 😉

Hi Justin, I’m posting here from France for the 1st time but I’ve been following YakFace for several years now! Those customs are great ideas, nice head swaps and accessorizing! It works so well! Makes me want to do the same, but unfortunately the next Walmart is something like 6000km away and those Rebel Ground Crew helmets are now super hard to find as I’ve never been lucky enough to buy any Rebel Transport Speeder or Scramble at Yavin set back in the day… But on to the real question here: I see you used Juno Eclipse & Starkiller Hero heads, but out of curiosity, do the new heads fit tight or loose or normal on the Rose ball joint? Thanks!

The 5poa Rose head will fit on the SA body – you just have to twist it hard. It does fit with a bit of effort. Or one could drill it just a bit to make it easier.

        • Brian Beck

I haven’t done it, but the hot water trick could help with it. My issue with this one is the SA neck is too long.

          • mg1138

Wow, thanks to both of you for those additional details! Definitely seals the deal for me, I will one day reproduce this cool little custom!

    • Rykrof_Enloe

Cool, good to hear from you! You really ought to join our forums! 🙂

As for the heads, both those female heads fit on just fine on the SA Rose body. No modding was done.

I also had those helmets for a while – just been waiting for the right figure to use them on.
