Update: “Mythological” Codes Reveal Possible Han Solo Products?

Based on the our report from yesterday regarding the new Hero Series product names (Zeus and Vesta) found online, there is speculation/coincidence that these may be the first indicators that products for the untitled Han Solo movie could rely on Greek/Roman mythology to mask the character names from the film. Thoughts?

UPDATE 11/17: Names found so far: Zeus, Athena, Vesta, Hercules, Hermes, Artemis, Minotaur, Gorgon, Pegasus (Millennium Falcon), and Cronus

I don’t really watch Star Wars Rebels (I’m a casual viewer), but clearly they were already getting into/borrowing some Greek allegory or allusions with Hera, but how to apply them seems hard with out knowing much plot detail…

    Wiki mentions the following though..

The myths depicting Vesta and her priestesses were few, and were limited to tales of miraculous impregnation by a phallus appearing in the flames of the hearth – the manifestation of the goddess.”

This reminds me a great deal of Padme` and the only character on set that looks like Padme (or Leia for that matter) is Emilia Clarke (petite, brown hair, wearing white).

The wiki also mentions that she is a virgin Goddess and is associated with “fire”–being her non-human form—if I’m not reading too far into it, perhaps this character is Force sensitive?

    • Paulskywalker

I can’t see any phalluses in a hearth in SW, but maybe Emilia Clarke could be some sort of priestess? But it’s how deeply these codes have any meaning?

      • DarthLocke4

I can see that too. Ya, I don’t know, just taking a shot in the dark! 🙂

        • Paulskywalker

I thought maybe Zeus actually referred to woody Harrelson, being a mentor/father figure?

          • DarthLocke4

That makes a lot of sense!

  • Fire TV Stick Advisor

Hasbro, there had BETTER be a code for the re-release of the legacy Falcon.

  • Brian Beck

Ok I’ll ask–why do they need code names anyways ? wouldn’t you build more interest/hype if you knew directly what was coming ? No big deal, but I find it kinda funny/odd how there is CIA level secret code names for kid’s toys 🙂

  • Rivesjunctionite

Makes sense, but it’s interesting that it’s almost four months later than the first Rogue One toy leaks. I’m kind of surprised we haven’t seen any of these leaked names before now.
So … Zeus is Han? And Vesta is one of the girl characters?

    • RumSleg

I know that Vesta is from Roman mythology, but when it’s applied to Star Wars all I can think of is Princess Vespa.

    • Paulskywalker

I thought Zeus could be Woody Harrelsons character or I’m over thinking the code. Father figure/mentor.

Weird to think that this movie is 7 1/2 months away, wonder when will actually get a trailer. Maybe it will they’ll drop December 15th?

    • RumSleg

It would be kind of neat to get a trailer for the next Star Wars film in front of the current Star Wars film.

Are we safely beyond the point where, if the release date of Untitled Solo was going to be pushed back, it would have been announced? Ron Howard still seems to be filming, and December 2018 is wide open right now.

      • bbird

I read somewhere (can’t remember if it was an official industry source like Entertainment Weekly or more rumor-based like Makingstarwars) that Ron Howard would be making the official call about whether the film could be completed by the original date within a month of beginning reshoots. So I’m guessing it’s still set for May.

        • RumSleg

Thanks, bbird, that’s helpful to know. BTW, I adore your Orbach car and your political comments on Twitter are the best.

      • General Hux

Rogue One had reshoots in August, 4 months before it’s release. So I still think the Han film is coming out in May…These code name leaks seem to be further proof of that as well.
