Thanks to our friend Rich Alot from over at Rebelscum/Cool Toy Review, we can present to you a few photos from the floor of Hasbro’s ‘Twas the Night Before…Party last night. It goes without saying that Hasbro really is honoring that statement saying that the Black Series is meant for collectors as some of these figures are the best issues that have ever been done.

In anticipation of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars Rebels panel at New York Comic Con (Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. in room 1E of the Javits Convention Center) Hasbro is officially unveiling the packaging treatment for its Star Wars Rebels 3.75-inch action figure line supporting the upcoming animated series. Click on through for the full press release.
Jedi Temple Archives has also posted images revealing the first looks at several new Black Series figures. They include a what looks to be a Hoth-centric wave featuring Toryyn Farr, Snowtrooper Commander, Luke Skywalker (Dagobah), Yoda (Dagobah), Wedge Antilles (Snowspeeder Pilot) and Darth Vader (Revenge of the Sith armor). Head on over to their Facebook page for a look.
UPDATE: And they received confirmation that Ree-Yees is planned for a future TBS (3-3/4″) wave.
JTA has posted a first look at the proposed packaging for Hasbro’s Star Wars Rebels line of figures. Head on over for a glimpse into to the future (or past if you take my meaning).
PROS: Hasbro has revisited a much maligned attempt from 2007 and improved upon it greatly with an excellent head sculpt and deco (no more chocolate pudding hair!), and screen accurate accessories with the proper blaster and lightsaber. The articulation isn’t any better from the previous version but the other improvements made up for it in spades.
CONS: It there was any one nit to pick, I would say that the jacket is too pale in comparison to the screen used wardrobe.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
