Vintage fans take note. On May the 4th this fantastic vintage card back poster will be available for purchase from talented illustrator, Christopher Lee via dribbble. Here are some details on the piece:
My newest (and probably last) compendium poster pays tribute Star Wars and the iconic Kenner card back from the 80′s. This one in particular is the 92 card back which covered the entire basic figure assortment.
All of the characters were designed with the toys as reference. I took a few liberties, but the details are limited to what was provided by the figures alone.
The print will be in my shop by May the 4th (appropriately)

This past weekend was the C2E2 convention in Chicago, Illinois. In its fourth year, C2E2 has grown to fill an entire hall at McCormick Place. With no major stars like Val Kilmer and John Cusack to headline, the star wattage was a little bit dimmer, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t tons to do at the con. On this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast, hosts Arnie, Marjorie, and Johnathan are joined by Chris, Sarah, and Yakface.com’s Jayson live on the C2E2 floor! Listen as they run down their impressions of the convention, with tons of Star Wars collecting! From vintage finds to modern, high end and low end, plus custom items like coffee mugs and art, they discuss it all.
Also this week, Arnie sits down with Darth Vader and Son author Jeffrey Brown to talk about that book, the recently released follow-up Vader’s Little Princess, and his upcoming Scholastic book Jedi Academy.
With news from Sunday’s vintage toy auction, special collectibles for May the 4th, it’s all on this week’s Star Wars Action News!

Today we highlight the work of some more great customizers in our forum!
First up, we have Darthstreams, who has shared a ton of pics of his customs, including a Zayne Carrick that really caught my eye.
Next, PackRatStudios reveals what he’s been working on, including a very cool rendition of a Stormtrooper unit from Vader’s Fist.
Wraith_nine also joins in the fun, showing off a great gallery of Clone Wars customs, including some killer astromechs.
Last but not least, I-am-Boba-Fett has unleashed a ton of new customs into the forums, including an amazing rendition of a very obscure character from A New Hope, called Braconnor Bakiska.
Target has the Class II Vehicles on sale through May 18 for $14.99 (these are the controversial “mid size” vehicles consisting of the Slave I, Kenobi Starfigher and Republic Tank). So if you’ve been considering these as a purchase, this is a pretty good price on these… and I for one actually think the tank is kind of cool even at a reduced scale (yes, I know I’m in the minority).
