As Force Friday creeps ever closer more merchandise is hitting stores. Local JediDefender collector Brian sent us a few images of new product in packaging for The Force Awakens from Spin Master, Uncle Milton and Hasbro. Click on through for a few images.
The shroud of “The Disney Side” is slowly, but surely, being lifted on the plans for Force Friday. This week, Flyguy and I discuss some of the images, product lists and unwitting retail employees leaking out info ahead of September’s big reveal. Speaking of big, Hot Toys revealed the ultimate 1:6 item – the Millennium Falcon display recently in Hong Kong. It not only went viral in the collecting community, but caught worldwide attention on media outlets as well. Is something like this actually viable in today’s market? Our friends at Star Wars Action News have posted their QnA with Hasbro from SDCC and they state that the Special Forces TIE Fighter from The Force Awakens will see limited release on September 4th “Force Friday”. You can listen to the entire interview on SWAN’s YouTube Channel.
Take this for what it’s worth but we received info from a retailer that states (via corporate email) that the figures for The Force Awakens are not planned to be released in waves but in one mass shipment for September 4. In essence, everything we see on Force Friday will probably be all that gets replenished until after the film’s debut.
