Preorders are now open for A New Proof: Kenner Star Wars Packaging Design 1977-1979 by Mattias Rendahl. This must-have book for vintage fans is limited to only 500 copies and features full-color imagery as well as interviews with the design team responsible for developing the signature Kenner line look. Celebration Exclusive: Electronic Max Rebo Plush

Underground Toys is the latest manufacturer to announce an exclusive for Star Wars Celebration. Check out the press release for the Electronic Max Rebo.

At the push of a button, the Max Rebo plush will play extracts from Lapti Nek; as featured in the Jabba’s palace scene from the original Return of the Jedi movie.

Max Rebo is the latest addition to the expanding fan favorite range which includes the Wampa, Tauntaun and Jabba the Hutt, amongst others. These specialty characters sit alongside the more familiar core line up of Yoda, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and R2-D2.

To celebrate the blue elephantine keyboardist joining the range, Underground Toys have launched a special edition for Star Wars Celebration 2015. The special edition, measuring in at 6 inches, will have ‘Star Wars Celebration, Anaheim 2015’ embroidered on the products’ base.

Every attendee to our collecting panels in room 210AB at Celebration Anaheim will receive a special commemorative “Star Tot”!  Based on the unproduced toy line from 1979, each flat die-cast enameled collectible measures almost 2” high, and features a charming rendition of your favorite characters from The Empire Strikes Back.  Be sure to collect all 20!

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim Exclusive Art Print Pre-orders

Hundreds of artists were considered for the Star Wars Celebration Art Show, in the end Lucasfilm and the panel of judges selected 35 to create exclusive new illustrations for the event. Some of the artist chosen are known for their work in film and special effects while a handful like Alex Ross, Cat Staggs, Katie Cook, & Ken Lashley are recognizable for their work in comic books. Two such artists are the duo of Joe Corroney and Hi-Fi color design’s Brian Miller who frequently collaborate on cover illustrations for sci-fi comics like X-Files, Ghostbusters, Star Trek, and Doctor Who as well as Star Wars art for book covers, Star Wars Insider magazine, Topps trading cards, and Star Wars collectables for ACME Archives.

Star Wars Celebration is just 2 weeks away–have you gotten in line yet? Star Wars Action News hosts Marjorie and Arnie will be there running the Collector’s Social Area, part of the official Celebration Collector’s Track of events! On this week’s podcast, they run down the exclusives announced so far for the convention, and tell you about the one event no Star Wars collector should miss–the Swap Meet Saturday night at 7pm.

Also on this week’s show Andrew joins the hosts to look at the first figure in a new line of Star Wars figures: Hot Toys’ Shadow Trooper. After many years of creating the single best figure line for Marvel movie fans Hot Toys has now come to the Galaxy Far, Far Away. They’ve put seven figures up for pre-order already, but the first to ship was the black-armored trooper. Watch this week’s show to see how this figure ranks, and if you have to add it to your collection!

Kotobukiya has announced a limited availability preorder for their Star Wars Celebration Exclusive R3-A2 & K-3PO ARTFX+ set for non-attendees. Preorders go live this Thursday, April 2.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 2nd beginning at 10AM PST for the upcoming non-attendee pre-order of the Star Wars Celebration Two-Pack ARTFX+ featuring R3-A2 & K-3PO. This extremely limited, one-time production will only be available for purchase at SW Celebration (April 16-19) and through kotous.com while supplies last.

Action Figure Customizing Panel at C7

Customizing legend sillof (Jamie Follis) will be hosting a customizing panel at Star Wars Celebration on Friday, April 17th from 12pm-1pm.  Work from some of the Yakface forum members your are familiar with will be featured in this panel.  This will be the second time that Jamie has lead up this event, and if your are going to be at C7 and enjoy customizing or are interested in getting started, you ought to make an effort to attend.

At this panel, Jamie Follis will give attendees a complete overview of the process of creating or modifying your own action figures.  The panel will have something for newcomers as well as seasoned customizers including an introduction to the hobby, different types of customizing, instructions, suggestions, and tips on the hobby, and a showcase of some of the most creative fan made figures. Instructions will range from construction, to sculpting, painting, casting and 3-D printing your own pieces. A few lucky attendees will receive random prices. Jamie will also be hosting customizing classes daily at the Diorama Workshop area in the main showroom throughout the convention.
