Saga Legends Wave 3 Figure and Packaging Variants

SW_rebels_logo

Many of you caught our report yesterday regarding the helmet deco variant for Sabine. Would you be surprised to learn that there are now variants (both packaging and figure deco) for other Star Wars Rebels figures as well? Click on through to check out our latest report.

Starting with wave 3 which includes repacks of the Star Wars Rebels Stormtrooper (SL01), Ezra Bridger (SL02), The Inquisitor (SL03) and new figures Luke Skywalker (X-wing Pilot) (SL22), Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard Disguise) (SL23) and Han Solo (Bespin) (SL24), Hasbro has changed the packaging so that now all figures display international languages.

The differences don’t stop there. The artwork used on the bubble inserts and card backs have been changed/altered as well on the 3 repacked Rebels characters. Even the Star Wars Rebels “From the Animated Series” icon is different. Click on the gallery below to check them out.

As you can see, the character art for the Stormtrooper used on the insert and card back is different from the original release. The same goes for Ezra and The Inquisitor.

As for the figures themselves, the differences are minimal/negligible for the Stormtrooper and Ezra, the main difference being a change in the date stamp sequence and/or color of the printed text on the figure. For example Ezra has 3 main variants (shown below): The original jacket logo design (documented here) from the Toys”R”Us Jedi Reveal set, the Wave 1 basic figure (SL02) with corrected jacket logo and white date stamp text, and the recent Wave 3 figure with black date stamp text.

If you’re still with us, congrats! You win a free oven mitt! But here is where things get a bit more relevant. The Inquisitor in wave 3 has a deco change.

Bum, bum, buuuuum!

That’s right, not only does The Inquisitor figure have all of the packaging and date stamp color change differences, the face deco has changed as well (note the red vertical “tears” under each eye).

Granted, some/most might not give two flips about any of these changes we’ve cited above but we just wanted to pass on some info so if/when you acquire these figures, you can maybe identify which version you have or one you think may be more desirable.

Look for these variants to be added to our toyguide soon.

Note: All wave 3 figures shown above were acquired from Entertainment Earth
