I see your point, but when Hasbro overproduces the first wave like they did with Wave 1 TVC in 2012, then carries forward SEVEN of those figures in Wave 2, and SEVEN of those figures in Wave 3, it's Hasbro's own fault. If I was a retailer, I'd say "Fool me once Hasbro, shame on you. Fool me twice Hasbro, shame on me."

I understand some of that, in particular the army-building part and the case assortments. I wish they'd pack two of every new figure, too. But I think plenty of the blame can be placed on the stores. Targets, KMarts and TRUs in my area in Maryland and DC regularly have a couple of Qui Gons and Obi Wans and that's it. And a lot of empty pegs. They never re-stock! My argument in that case is that new figures cause old figures to sell. If you get four new figures, you might think, "Hey I need an Artoo or another Clone to go with these new guys." I think Hasbro does a good job at getting figures out when they SAY they will, just not to retail stores, because it's the retail stores don't care about fans and collectors. And I SWEAR I don't work for Hasbro!! ;)

I buy a lot of my figures online and often pay more than retail.... But the case assortments suck. If i bought solid cases i would have tons of crap left over it would literaly look like the pegs at walmart!!! Nothing against entertainment earth or brians toys but they know they have collectors by the balls and they charge accordingly.

Many of us do pre-order online - the issue there is, Hasbro's case assortments have been so bad, that we're getting stuck with certain figures we don't want to buy because we already have them. It's also harder to army build or get more of the "extras" that we do want by ordering cases online. In the past we never had these sort of issues finding a good variety of figures in the stores. Hasbro's just simply done a bad job these past several years in terms of planning.

Hey guys, please explain something to me, and I'm not trying to be a wiseguy. Why do you HAVE to get the new figures at Target or TRU or whatever. There are plenty of webstores, like Entertainment Earth and others, that sell these things, yes, a little above what they charge in the stores. I don't see it as such a burden if you want the figures, you pay a little more to not have to fuss with going to store after store and coming up empty-handed. I have every figure from 2012 that I want. And I got them as soon as they come out! I think the diehards ARE getting these figures and Hasbro knows it! I'm really not trying to rag on anybody, but the figures ARE available! Why not just pre-order online?

I agree, it's horrible. Hasbro's got to know they are on very thin ice with collectors; otherwise they wouldn't have been so accommodating at C6... they better turn things around in 2013 with an approach that shows they care. It's pretty bad when the diehards who have been around since the true vintage days have a hard time getting excited when Hasbro announces something new, because we know it's going to be hell to track it down.
