In reply to Dewayne. So you have not checked out the rediculous prices for Star Wars figures lately?? I actually hope that Hasbro can hang onto the liscense. Disney has been heavily Mattel in the past and Mattel's figures have benn horendous! This should actually make any Disney/Star Wars cross tie-ins cheaper because you have cut out a level of profit taking.....

Well, I think it is time for me to retire from collecting. Thing will go larger and expensive with Disney. I will keep watching the movies, but for figures; I’m done. Thanks George for the last 32 years.

Now having said all that, if the Movie side is handled as well as they have done the Marvel movie it could be a good thing from that point. Maybe we will finally get the weekly TV series they have been promising for years. But unlike Marvel or even the new Trek, Star Wars movies would have to be handled carefully to not ruin things, even with George at the helm the Prequels will never equal the iconic status of the Original Trilogy.

Sorry but I do not see this as a good thing, ever shopped for Disney items, the prices are ridiculous. I see this making Star Wars even harder to collect. But there should be more stuff out there, a LOT more stuff. And Disney history of Action Figures in not so hot, the Indiana Jones figures they put out as exclusives were horrible. I hope I am wrong but I don’t see this as good. Disney bought Marvel yet we still have ridiculously priced Hasbro marvel figures. Unless they want out I bet Hasbro made sure they kept the toy license in all this.

Good deal, a quality company taking on the brand will keep it to the original vision and be able to promote and build the brand into the future. Just like Henson did with the Muppets and their purchase of Marvel, they know how to respect the property, promote it and of course … PROFIT!!! Better Diz than anyone else. Now do they do the Thrawn trilogy (since it is written and ready) or something all new?

I think it would be a mistake to recast Luke, Han or Leia. You gotta go with the original actors, only older… I do remember hearing a while back that Lucasfilm had scanned their “likeness” or something…
