I am looking forward to the next three films. I think Lucas did a wonderful job with the prequels. Sorry to see people dissing him because it didn't live up to their unrealistic expectations of what the films were representing. If you feel you could have done a better job, do your own films and invest your own money in making whatever it might be you thought should have been done. I am here to say I am glad we are getting another batch of films and I look forward to seeing Disneys take on the franchise. Why people feel the need to criticize Disney before they make a film is nothing more than wasted space. Sith Lives.

PatMan, exactly....if Disney gives a big FU to the already established continum...post Return of the Jedi...that proves Disney is not in touch with our culture. Remember, Disney is not making films because they love Star Wars...they don't make superhero movies because they love Marvel Characters...they make the movies because they have dollar signs in their eyes...don't let the family friendly facade fool you. Disney is coined the Evil Empire---rightfully so.

Sure, those stories have been told... once. There's nothing to stop Disney/Lucasfilm from totally ignoring the established EU. It's already happened before (see Boba Fett in Episode II). I'm probably in the minority here, but I am hoping that Disney chooses to go their own way with the story. I've not cared for the EU for a very long time - many of the EU stories are far worse than the prequels.
Maybe give us an older Luke (still played by Hamill) training a new generation of heroes (new ones; not the oddballs of the EU), with cameos from the other big names. All new names; all new faces. There is no need to feel tied to the bloated corpse that is the established post-ROTJ continuity.

It's a sad day really. George Lucas left us with three horrible films. Then he sells out to Disney, who now promises to make an Episode 7. Disney doesn't get the Star Wars culture, and I'm afraid they may not already know but...the stories after Return of the Jedi have already have been told. George Lucas will be remembered as a sell out and horrible writer/director.

I, too am excited tempered with apprehension. We all have very little go on as of now but things will start to be revealed rather quickly I suspect. 2015 isn't that far away and to have a new movie in theaters things will have to move quickly.

The one thing I keep pointing to is that Disney announced "Episode VII". They didn't just say "new movie" or "more movies" (although those are coming too). They specifically announced Episode VII. And that is what gives me the most hope with the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney. Their first endeavor will not be simply a new movie, but a continuation of the original trilogy- the one that EVERYBODY loves. Fans and casual movie goers alike. Logic dictates that if it is called Episode VII, it will at least involve the original characters we all love. That is s great sign that Disney knows what the audience really wants. They want more of the original trilogy story. We have not gotten any movies or TV about the original trilogy timeline at all. Lucas has always stayed away from it focusing rather on expanding the world of the prequels with things like The Clone Wars tv show.

If Disney makes Episode VII and does not include Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and the droids that will be a huge sign they perhaps don't know what they are doing. It is an exciting time, once again, to be a Star Wars fan!
