Yeah, when distribution freezes up and you’re sitting on most of the cases that were supposed to push through the market, I imagine the instinct is to go ahead and wait on starting a new line. They act like they’re doing a favor but instead they’re just reaching the conclusion that most of us have been shouting for a couple years now: Big box stores suck at distributing three different SKUs.

Further, forcing resets for new lines with release dates and sandbagging the first wave with peg warmers will create back-ups that curse an entire line. I wish I could do something to impress how unhelpful having four different Anakins on the pegs is to Hasbro, but you I’m sure they’ll be the first to tell me how wrong I am. After all, they’re the company with a massive amount of undistributed merchandise and I’m the guy who’s been sitting on cash for his collection with nothing to buy for most of 2012. What do I know? But go on, Hasbro, send out some more Obi-Wan starfighters and At-Aps and V-19s. Maybe they’ll actually sell the fourth time they’ve flooded the market…

I agree on this plan for 2013. I know the Yoda line is ready to go and most likely will be nothing but repacked figs all year including the Vintage “Greatest Hits” waves, which as long as I can get a Vizla and Starkiller I am good with. 2014 will most likely be the same with 2015 hopefully opening a new door of opportunity with the new film. I am interested to see if Disney does a 6″ line for their theme parks and hope in 2018 when Hasbro’s contract is up they move on and let someone new take the reins.

I agree with you Jayson. We in for some rude awakenings I fear. They should have waited to announce this latest TVC news at UK Toy Fair. The speculation is going to be unprecedented.

In Carlisle PA we havent seen a new shipment of vintage figs since the first Phantom Menace wave. Is Hasbro even in business any more? Thank goodness for entertainment earth! tried the one of every figure club but everything came bent and shipping 3-4 at a time cost more than the figures. Ive bought every figure ever made including the vinyl cape jawa but this complete lack of product has made it alot less fun. Don’t mind fewer figures per year, especially if it means less repacks, but at least ship the ones you do make.

I think we’re spoiled by Hasbro. With the REAL vintage line, we got roughly 12 figures a year, and those shipped in cases of 48…all year long. Even then, there were no “new” figures until a new movie came out, and then, all previous figures were put back out on new movie logo cardbacks.
I’m fine with a delay. I don’t have to buy something every 30 days to continually keep my interest in my collection. The breaks allow me to appreciate it more.

I think Hasbro has dropped the ball big time the last couple years. And this does nothing to make me think it is gonna change soon.

Stop gap. It just more re pack figures and not enough new to vintage figures. Wake up hasbro give us more new figures.
