There is no guarantee that with the necessitated price increase of maintaining a line of figures that are at least 75% new sculpts and 14-POA, that it would have continued to thrive in the numbers Hasbro is accustom to producing. Also in light of diminishing interest in the tv series by the general population. Of course we the fans would buy, but would it be enough? I wish Hasbro could work out a way to be a little more focused/smaller/niche in their Star Wars offerings and yet still operate the license at a worthwhile profit.

Well it came down from the very top of Hasbro that they need to drastically cut back on their SKU count going forward. So yeah, that equates to exactly what you are saying, less variety in figures but a heck of a lot more of each one made. Not a pretty picture for collectors. And for retailers, they are going to have to be extremely patient for all that stock [of the same thing] to sell through.

I completely agree Matthew. The only reason the Clone Wars line is gone is because Hasbro ran the line into the ground. There are so many missed opportunities for great figures! How have we not gotten Krell, Fives, Bo-Katan, bounty hunter Ventress, red Maul Mandos, and the list goes on. Hasbro either needs to get their act together, although looking at their 2013 line up it doesn't look like that is happening any time soon :(

Oh, I agree it's all Hasbro's fault. They are getting worse and worse... why did they never make an animated Chancellor Palpatine? And why didn't they re-release Darth Sidious and the Magna Guard? There is no excuse for such terrible management.

True that! Savage, Maul, and the 501st trooper would have sold like hot cakes though. The sad thing is, this line died because and only because of Hasbro's mismanagement. There are still a whole lot of characters left on the table :(

If I was a retailer, I wouldn't want these assortments. Not after the disaster of 2012.

There is very little innovation here - and not enough "new" for a launch. Retailers in the US either did themselves a financial favor by not wanting these, or Hasbro did the right thing in limiting their exposure.

Hasbro has run on a strategy since 2012 with the kid lines that less is more (fewer selection of characters, while producing more of the same figures over and over). It failed miserably in 2012, hence the drastic changes we are seeing coming later this year... not that I think those changes are that great either. Their business model is very flawed these days.
