Even though their ’77 Star Wars-style Alien figures don’t appeal to me, I still think that those figures are a great idea. I hope that this line evolves into modern Hasbro-style SW 3 3/4″ figures of other franchises. Don’t laugh, but years ago when Hasbro teased us with Battlestar Galactica figures by giving us those awesome ships and the Cylon in the Titanium series, I had recurring dreams of walking in to Target and TRU and seeing Firefly, BSG, and characters from other sci-fi franchises integrated into the Star Wars line. On one occasion, I even dreamed that I was at TRU checking out with a Serenity ship, by Hasbro, in my cart. LOL, I nearly cried when I woke up! Anyways, this line is the closest thing to that scenario possibly coming true. AND there’s that potentially awesome 6″ line too, which deserves an impassioned rant of its own, lol ! So yeah, um, I’m pretty excited about this news 🙂

They aren’t producing SW figures – it isn’t implied that they were.

Their statement is a little confusing, it only compares their 6″ line to the Black Series, but doesn’t actually say that their 6″ line will include Star Wars figures.
