I think a lot of the "whining" is because people can't actually get stuff. You'd think Hasbro would hear that and try to find ways to make its products more accessible, not to make an exclusive like this.

Also, for a collectors line at this price point, I think we're entitled to voice our opinions. You see this in any other industry. Listen to Apple consumers complain about iPhones. Apple's response is to try to find a way to sell more iPhones and make them better, not to try to find ways to sell fewer iPhones or make them worse.

In reply to <a href="https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2014/05/02/sdcc-exclusive-jabba-the-hutt/#comment-11890">JsironStories</a>.

You've obviously missed the spirit of my comment, or you feel obliged to accept whatever garbage Hasbro deems worthy of tossing your way. Although it's true that the collecting community will always find fault with every product the company produces; they're big boys and girls. Trust me, no one gets their feelings hurt by the critics. And sometimes they even take it to heart, and listen to their public's demand.

I'm not going to address your remark about price concerns because this is meant to be a premium line. I expect to pay a premium price-- providing I'm offered a premium product. As for scalpers, well, that's just a fact of life. If you're not used to it after nearly 20 years of the modern line, you might as well pack it in now.

What I am concerned with, if you read my post, is the fact that Hasbro has 20 years worth of feedback over the product they are offering, and yet they still offer us an incomplete Jabba the Hutt. In their premium line, no less. That's not them not meeting an impossible demand, my friend. That's them disregarding customer demand. When have collectors ever said they were satisfied with Jabba without a dias when they offered him that way in the past? The simplest solution would have been to offer Jabba himself in the basic line, for all, and offer Salacious, dias and pipe as the exclusive. They did not, however, even though they knew the expectation.
And for the issue of quality, I understand your willingness to accept any product Hasbro offers, however, the vintage Salacious Crumb is practically superior to this version. It's crap, and people should expect better from a line touted as geared for collectors.
I would hope, as someone willing to pay a premium price for what's offered as a premium product, you would be willing to offer your feedback to help Hasbro improve their figure line.

This isn't aimed at you, but I think the chronic whining, refusal to pay full price for large-scale items, and incessant demands (which exemplify a large portion of the collecting community) have fostered any perceived disdain.

We're not all like that, but the vocal minority really paints an impossible to like/respect group of people. It's like working in customer service: Even if Hasbro didn't set out to "hate" collectors, having to put up with our never-ending nonsense is enough to drive any reasonable person/company mad.

The Jabba and his hookah look great, really nice paint job on it, but like with other Black series... is this what people will actually get? If it will actually look as nice as these pictures, then it's a great, but a lot of us learned from the 6" scale Artoo that what you see isn't what you get.

The Salacious Crumb is just disappointing though. For a 6" scale one, they should have been able to articulate it, as his limbs aren't likely any smaller than the clone wars Padmes and Ahsokas.

Too bad most of us will never even see this set, let alone have a chance to buy it. It's bad enough that I rarely even see the bulk made basic figures in stores here... we're lucky to get one case per wave, per store, but convention exclusives are just... cruelly unfair.

How sad. The Black Series once again falls short. Would it really have been so hard for them to make an articulated S. Crumb with a full dias-- and just offer it without Jabba? We are already getting the Jabba figure in the basic line. I don't understand why Hasbro has such disdain for collectors.
