Yeah they certainly have cheapened the overall look for sure! It looks as if a machine is producing these figures, they even look smaller then normal characters. This is just my personal opinion, others may feel differently but if they were originally going for the "throwback look" then they would have had to make them look a little like those reaction figures, I also appreciate a more static pose over let say an action pose. I keep saying they should make them look like power if the Jedi figures they would at least coinside with the rest of the collection as a whole.

Yeah! Mega Mall, err... Maul. But, I'm replying to styling concerns. If Playmates made Star Wars action figures, they'd all look like they're crouching. To me, SL/MS figures are quite a style deviation from the semi pre-posed style Hasbro has taken since buying Kenner. These SL/MS figures look like cadavers or anatomy book illustrations. They're just very static. I can only imagine it's a throwback to the old Kenner style, but part of me thinks the real driving reason for this style change is it costs less to manufacture. Hasbro has definitely been on a mission to cheapen Star Wars.

BTW, with all the new films coming, I am afraid the days of Hasbro really looking for much longevity for each film could be behind us. They could just figure each year they get a huge initial order from retailers for the launch, and live off that until the next launch... look how poorly they've handled all the super hero lines, for example... yikes...

I recite this kind of thinking to my self every single day! it's great that something like this was so nicely written.... the question is will they bite? will they care? Not really sure, they may be too far gone
the line of thinking that removes them from this situation does not seem too extreme! I think the "how do we get there" is what we need to start talking about?

i think they also care very little about the collectors who i call "the originals" who have been buying their products from the very beginning. they have been trying to sell to children for year even though the originals have been their primary supporters for a very long time!

I honestly think Hasbro is the best 3.75 figures all around in the business - they've just royally screwed up starting with 2012. I think they are the right company, they just need to get back to what works.
