They are not really chucking toys out of the pram though are they Flyguy, because I have not seen a rush of sites trying to claim 2nd or 3rd place, have you? If other sites were that bothered, surely they’d all have Cody, IG-88, Yoda and all the others up for preorder by now……… wouldn’t they?

All sites should offer pre-orders at the same time, and from what I gather things are happening to ensure this happens. (Not that it effects the UK really). Fan sites should be the ones falling over each other to break the news first, not in my opinion retailers, who probably all have the same information to hand anyway. However, I think the best way to judge sites, is not who breaks the information first, but who offers the best service and gets the figures to you first.

Flyguy, I don’t recall saying I dislike or am fed up with Dorkside, I merely said I know one of the sites mention are looking into “things”, which is very very different from what you are suggesting I am saying.
However when we list an item, it is common knowledge. I will be first to admit, if Hasbro have shown an item at as Toy Fair or convention or its common knowledge online, I’ve no problem listing it. I think its crazy Hasbro show of figures to the public, and then not allow preorders for those figures. I have an Notify me page up for 3PO, Bossk, Wave 6, but are not taking preorders for them because they have not been officially announced yet. As I say, at the moment things are all over the place with Hasbro. See Wave 4 as a perfect example of how they change things late in the day. It’s common knowledge that the figures above are coming. I’ve also hinted at line ups and exclusives in the past, but not posted the details or taken preorders until they are common knowledge. I have a rough idea of the entire 6 inch line up up until 3rd quarter of 2015. There’s plenty more to come until they go into lock down for Episode VII. I could easily place a preorder page with a rough date for every figure, but a lot of it will be guess work as far as dates are concerned, and Hasbro don’t like to announce more than a wave or two in advance. So no I don’t think its pot calling kettle black at all.

BBTS & EE broke street dates many times in the past, so no one is perfect and typically most stores don’t do it, but what is an online store to do, if it’s not one store it’ll be another that lists it. They all want it first. I broke the waves 2 and 3 of the black series 6″ 1st last year, should I sit on it and be quiet? Correct R, with you on that one, 100%, just typical childish jealousy. Everyone wants to be first and when they are not they toys get chucked out the pram.

Wayne, puhlease, a little hypocritical of you to be saying you are fed up and dislike Dorksidetoys.com listing products before Hasbro street dates. Yet you do the same, as you work at Star action figures and currently have the Threepio six inch and tie pilot listed. And and have listed other items in the past which have not been solicited. Pot calling the kettle black dont you think? Plus it appears Dorksidetoys.com have the newly revealed figures listed as ‘pre-order coming soon’.

And thats the problem they have. Hasbro do not have firm release dates yet. Hasbro did offer all these figures as solids with a October release date, but this may have changed as Hasbro have gone back to waves by the looks of it, but the truth is no one knows, its all guess work. As I said above, as 6 inch wave 4 proved, things change.

Good question. They should not be doing it. Hasbro like everyone to keep to strict preorder dates. Its not that other sites are slow in getting them up, its just the other sites keep to the rules. It will go bad when/if Hasbro changes the line up (which they regularly do) or the others sites you mention get fed up with Dorksides practices (one of which I know have had enough of it) and get Hasbro to take action against them. They now have 4 waves of 6 inch figures up for preorder. Blimey as wave 4 proved, Hasbro don’t the line up themselves more than a wave or two in advance!!!!!

All are great sellers of product and I am happy to purchase my goods from them all. Dorkside just has offered these up for preorder before the other sites added their listings faster – doesn’t mean the other sites won’t be doing the same thing.
