Well, the price of so many things is going up. Rent, insurance, tuition, gasoline (good for now but it will go up), food, etc. The difference is that toys are non-essential items. Even with disposable income, or an intelligent “toy budget,” you’d have to admit these figures are not worth 13 or 14 dollars a piece. It’s just not a smart buy, no matter how much you may want them. I’d rather stand back and pick these things up a few years later on ebay for cheap. I’m going for an hour drive today to pick up a Turbo Tank for 30 dollars (same area where I found a Legacy Falcon for 40 dollars).

If the secondary market price doesn’t come close to what I’m willing to spend, well then I just do without.

Bottom line is that as the price increases while quality decreases, Star Wars toys have become less of a priority for me. If they disappeared completely off the shelves, I would be more than happy with what I have now.

I know how I’m going to deal with this catastrophe – – I’m going to just start making my coffee at home, and keep buying the figures I like. Let’s be honest- right now, there are only about 20 figures released per year if we are lucky. Even at a $3 increase, you’re looking at an additional $60 per year. That’s $5 extra per MONTH folks. It’s not the end of the world.
