It was 1983 I was eleven years old and we waited hours in line to see Return of the Jedi, and it was one of the best times of my life.
It was also early summer and a beautiful evening.

Now I have to freeze for TFA, just so I can see it before the media goes rampant with spoilers. Aye caramba.

Good points there. I do hope it’s not literally one movie every year over an extended period of time because that might be a lot for retailers to keep up with in terms of merchandise (and could result in even more cutbacks and shortcuts by manufacturers), but the first few getting released back-to-back isn’t something I’m too concerned about.

Well, there is something to be said for anticipation. I just hope they are giving themselves enough time to do them right. I would hate to see this franchise turn into just another summer action flick without any substance. I’d be happy to wait a bit longer if it meant getting something truly epic.

One every year beats no movies at all for ten or sixteen, that’s for sure! =0)

Now would be a good time to put in that bid for a Hoth Han replica parka. LOL!

I admit I’m in the concern for oversaturation camp. At least I’ve got you to convince me this is a rollercoaster I want to be on. 🙂

TFA will be the first SW movie that I don’t stand in line for

aint no way I’m standing outside in the cold and snow just to be among the first to see the new movie

I wish it was an October release

I wonder if there was more Star Wars quickly in theaters or on TV in 1999, if fans would have been easier on the Prequels.

It would have been impossible in 1999 to turnout so many movies of this scope so quickly.

And the original 3 movies took such a toll it required 16 years to recover.

To put things into perspective, there were 16 years between ROTJ and Episode I. I grew from an eight-year-old elementary school kid to a twenty-four-year-old adult who’d been to college waiting for new Star Wars movies. There will have been 10-1/2 years between Episode III and TFA.

That’s crazy when you think how long we had to wait between trilogies or even between movies during a trilogy. Times have changed. This is going to be good. Even if you don’t like one, there is another one right around the corner. I wonder if I’ll ever not see one?
