But those Pacers and Gremlins are on the cusp of becoming classics! 😉 Besides, just as vehicle trends have changed since the late 70’s, Hasbro Motors is now giving you the currently in vogue feature-laden behemoth SUV of a figure in the way of TBS 6″.

Between the trickle at retail and keeping my eye out for deals online I’ve been able to acquire most of the past years’ figures at close to or below retail pricing. With determination, dedication and some savvy shopping, I can afford to spend a bit more for those few items that never turned up.

But yeah, I can see how the glacial pace and the lack of product at retail can dampen the spirit. I honestly doubt we will [ever?] see things like they were in the good ol’ days, but surely retail and Hasbro can do a better job of stocking product than this.

I like a few 5-POA SL for that very reason. The OT figures remind me of a newer take on classic Kenner or similar to the approach of ReAction only not quite as retro. I’ve also picked up many of the Rebels characters and am fine with those being 5POA as I see it as a low-price toy line to accompany a kids cartoon.

Having said that, I really don’t want 5-POA to become the new norm and I believe I will tire of it if it continues for too long.

I like them for nostalgic reasons. But I dont get why I would want to buy them now based on the technology we have today. The ReAction style figs do nothing for me.
