I hope it’s not yet another obnoxious reduction in the amount of plastic being used in each package but it wouldn’t surprise me. At this point just getting the looks right and giving them all super articulation seems like an accomplishment.

Have you seen the height comparison of these 3 in the forums? Dang, that puts a bit of a damper on what I felt was the best Clone (Wolffe) of the bunch. I’ve noticed all of the figures seem to be shrinking lately. For example, look at Snowtrooper Commander vs. any earlier sculpts.

There is a certain cheapness to their look. But like you say, it’s hard to tell from one or two pics of one particular sample.

First impressions are important for me, I tend to trust my instincts about a figure the very first moment I see it. A first glance is usually enough most of the time. If it turned out certain parts shared traits with the cheaper SL parts, like the legs, kama or shoulder pad, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit. Another example of the blurred line between TBS and SL.

I will have to respectfully disagree. Similar at first glance sure, but once you examine the finer details, shapes and dimensions, it becomes clear that these two share no common pieces. Very challenging to discern from a computer screen. I believe once we have these figures in hand and can examine them up close side by side we will have our answer.

What are you seeing as the issue with this figure? The paint apps on the face? The face sculpt? Something more?

Look at them carefully specifically in the chest piece,legs and hip area they are clearly parts from the current saga line 5poa and the kama and shoulder pad on Rex is the same as the saga one…. The Wolfe is new though

As far as Rex and Doom, I do not care for the new Clone sculpt. Why abandon the relatively new and perfectly fine VC 45 sculpt? Too expensive to manufacture now? All Clone fanatics should be thrilled over the newly reduced head/helmet size. For me it looks odd. Maybe I have become accustom to seeing the larger buckets over the years? What really ruins these for me is the plastic kamas. I know we had plastic kamas for years before Vintage, but these just look cheap. Maybe it has just as much to do with their shape/sculpt, because many of the older Clone Commanders still look great with plastic kamas.

Vader? I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. The only thing I would hope for is slightly better paint on the face. But I must say this still looks better than what was shown at SDCC. Also the recent packaged images of “Dagobah Test” Vader looked even better.

I chalk these up to early pre-production examples. I expect these to look better once released.
