Thanks for posting this. To be fair, most of my questions were 6″ focused. I didn’t ask that question specifically with 3 3/4″ in mind. Though I think it’s reasonable to assume that when I ask if it’s continuing, that the question does include both lines which have the Black Series label on them. I really don’t think there’s any reason to think 3 3/4″ is going away based on MY conversation. But, again, my focus was on 6″.

What exactly IS “The Black Series”? Is it the 6″ ones or the 3 3/4″ ones — both of which say “Black Series” on them?

I won’t “deride”, but I don’t feel that they are canning super-articulated 3 3/4″ just yet. I know I myself have been guilty of loosing hope over the past year or so, but I have read Hasbro’s responses in other Q&As that make it sound like the S/A 3 3/4″ line is still at the heart of what they are doing – if not what they are able to put all of their efforts into at the moment.

Going forward…Sounds like 6″ TBS as they are with articulation…and 3.75″ (mostly) 5POA.

They didn’t say “as it is”, they said “what it is”. And what it is, is the “pinnacle figure expression”. This “pinnacle figure expression” will only include 6″. By definition, this figure expression will be a single high point—meaning no room on this singular peak for anything other than super-articulated 6″ figures. Super-articulated 3 3/4″ figures have fallen off.

I’m probably analyzing this too much but we got nothing else to go on but a rapidly shrinking pinnacle of hope.

Another question about the Black Series and yes they say “as it is” but still not specifically 3.75″ . Sorry not sorry, I do not care for 6″. Granted I am so happy to save money and time hunting as there is nothing of what I want out there, being 3.75″. However they just keep rah rah rahing their 6″ stuff in every Q&A I have read, and well how can I trust them when they say Rebels figures couldnt make it out thanks to peg warmers. I have not seen peg warmers or any 3.75″ figure en masse for two years now. I am excited for the new movie and if they can pull out a great SA or slightly SA 3.75″ TFA line which I know they can not give out details on but just say, yay or nay! I will happily collect it. We have leaked images of the TFA 6″ figures even but we still can not lock down an answer, if they are going to have SA 3.75″ figures. So next time any of you fan sites do a Q&A just ask this….. as a fan and collector of ONLY super articulated 3.75″ figures will I be happy this December?

Kidding aside, this is kind of an encouraging sign. I’m still braced for the worst, but I am a little more optimistic for what we see at SDCC.

“The Black Series line, as it is” This is is the linchpin of their question, because “as it is” currently means 6″ and 3.75″. So when Hasbro response to this with “Yeah we have no plans to stop Black Series” I take it to mean they are not abandoning the 3.75″ collector-grade “pinnacle figure expression”.
