Hasbrotoyshop, com or Amazzon is fine and dandy if you happen to live in North America.

In reply to <a href="https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2015/05/19/legacy-collection-droid-factory-case-details/#comment-16536">12O-12K</a>.

We don't know that it was Hasbro who said Amazon can't have these. It's possible that it was the Amazon buyer who after reviewing decided that selling 12 individual figures as their exclusive didn't fit their promotional needs and that they were looking more for something in the way of a $60 "set". From the buyer's standpoint it might be more impactful to have an exclusive set for the holiday shopping season than just a random assortment of individual figures. On the other hand, selling these 12 figures as an Amazon exclusive case (rather than individually) may have been above where they wanted to be pricewise for a promotional set of figures. I know Amazon sells things across the entire spectrum of prices, but maybe they just don't move that many full cases of figures to make it worth their while. Does Amazon even sell full cases? Or are those just through "Marketplace" sellers?

Maybe there weren't really that many of these "Go! Calendar" cases that were produced. It's possible that Hasbro would have had to produce a bunch more anyway to meet the needs of a large retailer such as Amazon and therefore it was a much better fit for a smaller retailer such as Go! Calendars. (Perhaps they even had another small retailer lined up earlier, but that one fell through). From their website, they have over a thousand locations, but I would wager that more than half of those are kiosks without any toys. So if I were to speculate that each location that carries toys gets 2 cases, that would amount to a mere 1000 cases (or less) of these figures that were produced. Perhaps another 1000 sold to the UK retailer.

My point is a smaller retailer is likely better suited to a small batch like this than someone like Amazon. Now why they couldn't have just sold these through Hasbro Toy Shop? That is a question for another day.

No. The Amazon exclusive set showed up at TRU Express. I know because I bought it while looking for the Go! set, which includes the ones from TBS waves 1 & 2.

I don't think we can say that for sure. It ended up priced very low. But who knows exactly how many sold or what the run was? They may have sold great, but became saturated. All we know is that they seemed to have more than would sell briskly.

This is the company that thought that packing Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan in three consecutive TVC case assortments to support a 3-D rerelease of a movie was a good idea. This is the company that thought we needed all those Biggs Darklighters to support an overpriced exclusive X-Wing sold at just one retail chain. "Laughable" has described their business model for a while now.

Mmm. I can't agree. I was very disappointed. However, I think it's laughable now the reasons Hasbro gave: that they couldn't cost out the droid parts and keep the line under $10. I guess it was more cost efficient to actually produce umpteen cases of LC2 wave 1, stick it in a warehouse for two years, redo all the card back art and reproduce ALL of the same figures again for the new packaging for the Amazon set. Did I mention this was laughable?
