It's odd sometimes how different people see the exact same thing with different perspectives. To me, the portrait on the new Carbonite Han Solo look significantly more like Harrison Ford than the older head sculpt. While I do agree the paint job leaves something to be desired, the sculpt itself seems to be a vast improvement.

As always, it is tough to make a true assessment from photos alone, so I'll have to wait till I have an example of the new figure in hand.

Thanks for the article and comparison shots Justin. I always enjoy seeing what can be done with these simple parts swaps.

Why is it Hasbro never gets the Han Solo Carbonite figure done right???--- why not have the Carbonite have a light-pipe effect on the top of the Carbonite block so that the side panels would light up when placed in a lighted area--- have a two sided slot so Han can Be frozen on one side and defrosted on the other side--- would that be something to see??? if you're going to charge us $12--- STOP Rehashing Figures Hasbro!!!

Whoever did painted that Han Solo did a terrible job. Nice easy fix, but does the 2006 Solo have the same skin-tone as the 2015 one?
