Wow, Hot Toys did a great job with this one! A wonderful portrait. It may not be 100% perfect, but dang if it ain’t close! One of the best looking renditions I can recall.

I do agree that the head sculpt on this one beats the snot out of the Sideshow one.

In reply to TimiFett. They are both pretty much on par except for the headsculpt which, as I said, is the only real significant improvement here. The body with the exposed wrist pegs will need to be replaced with a Phicen one and the clothing is a big disappointment. For over $200 I expected much better quality from Hot Toys.

In reply to GermanBoba. What the heck other accessories do you want with a New Hope Leia? The only thing I could think of is a Stormtrooper blaster. And wrist joints on figures, who needs them? If the wrist joints bother you so much, buy a statue.

In reply to GermanBoba. Her dress is not only the wrong type of fabric but the texture is completely wrong. Her dress should hang and drape naturally but they are using a synthetic rayon that makes it actually look worse than Sideshow's. The only improvement here is the headsculpt.

The headsculpt is truly spot on, but unlike the other Hot Toys releases within the next months this one does not have all that many accessories. And correct me if I am wrong, but I would guess she will probably retail for the same price as the Luke and Obi-Wan EPIV figures. Since we have already seen that the Luke head will also be featured on the Stormtrooper Disguise Toy-Fair exclusive version, I kind of suspect a re-use of the Leia sculpt as well on other figures. And in this price range I´d rather have a more substantial amount of accessories for a EP V or VI version, even if they wont feature the iconic hair-sculpt. And then there is the distinct visibility of her wrist-joints which Luke also features but can be a little better conceiled via his wider tunic. Anyways this is still worth considering, so forgive me my nitpicking 😉
