Oh yeah, how could I forget Jakks. Those things are huge. I’m glad long ago I decided to stick to the 3.75 scale.

I think it’s more to do with the metric conversion of millimeters to inches. The same applied to Medicom Japan. Disney doesn’t seem to care who makes Star Wars figures now as they keep doling out the license to every company that wants to make them.

Don’t forget Kotobukiya, Funko Pop!, Jakks 18″-20″, Jakks 31″, Jakks 60″, Lego minifigs, Disney Vinylmation, Disney Infinity, Disney figurine sets and Disney 13″-15.5″ Lights & Sounds figures. And maybe eventually Minimates, Funko Fabrikations and the return of Mighty Muggs?

Whew! You’re right, too much out there saturating the market. It’s great to have choices, but this is a bit overwhelming.

Only R2, BB & Yoda are 2″. The others are all 3.15″ tall. So just a smidge under what basic Hasbro figures are. Probably to avoid treading on Hasbro’s license agreement.

Since Hasbro feels obliged to dish out junk to fulfill their contract why not give someone like N.E.C.A. a crack at it? Heck, would love to see Funko do Star Wars ReAction figures in the style of vintage Kenner.

Yes, I’ve noticed that. It’s a disturbing trend. Figuarts, Disney Store Elite, these things, TBS6, TBS3.75, Hasbro’s basic figures, Hot Toys, 12″ Hero series, Jumbo vintage, Hasbro’s new budget 6″ line, Micromachines micro-figures, the new Lego 6″ figures. What am I forgetting?

I understand that some of these are obviously not targeted at the mass market, but I can’t help wondering if Hasbro’s bottom line is going to continue eroding thus “necessitating” unpopular design decisions (like those cheesy Rebels vehicles from last year) that further alienate collectors. Or worse, Hasbro decides that the license isn’t worth it, and Disney just starts making piecemeal toys that are not centered around the 3.75″ scale. That would make me sad.
