Spoiler Philosophy 101 aside (and I happen to agree with you), this is clearly something the production outfit did not want revealed, whereas the Finn using the saber "reveal" is one they clearly did intend to broadcast. So it is just being respectful of those who wish to toe the company line, in terms of spoilers.
