I found some of Finns jokes to be worse than the PT. There was a lot of good in the film (character development, mirroring ANH, intense emotional sequences, and the realistic interactions weapons had on the surroundings to name a few) but it was taken down a little bit by a couple things. Namely the weak score, awful jokes (except Han's of course), the crispness of the film (while the planets and people felt like Star Wars, the actual film had no filters to make it "old" like the OT) and Snoke did not feel powerful, he did not scream almighty supreme overload when he came on screen. Oh and the complete lack of explanation about the Republic. I know they were avoiding politics but some is needed, like how a little bit is explained in the OT.
