In reply to RumSleg. No 3D is dead. Hence no one is pushing it for the newer 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray releases. I prefer 4K over 3D. In the UK the 3D release will have the 2D version too. I hope it's released in 4K soon. Most films are. I loved Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Deadpool in that format.

In reply to General Hux. but not so awesome cause they always do this with releasing things a hundred times! no commentary on the first go was a red light something else would be out eventually. and the deleted scenes on the first one was pretty light too. i wish they would stop doing it like this..geeze

Any word on whether or not the “garbage will do” scene will have the different aspect ratio like it did when it was playing in IMAX? Some Blu-Rays carry over that transition but the initial Blu-Ray release of TFA didn’t have it.

Honestly the 3D was not great when I saw it. The enhanced effects made it a odd light show. The part when kylo destroys the computers was a giant neon lava like mess. The movie was shot in standard on film so honestly no point to this unless you want “another” viewing experience. I saw the standard 4x in theaters and that is the way its ment to be seen… Besides I got the regular bluray for FREE with WalMart’s top cash rebate so I’m all good.

I saw TFA in 3D 2 or 3 times. Along with all other other 3D movies I have seen I am still convinced 3D doesn’t add anything to the movie. The only memorable part of the 3D version was when the nose of the Star Destroyer was in your face. Past that, it was only a distraction. I’m sad that they held back deleted contact for this version but as someone else said, I’ll just watch it on YouTube.

Is 3D blu ray still a thing? I thought 3D TVs (which require the special goggles?) weren’t really a hit.

At any rate, I’m frustrated but not surprised that they held back some deleted scenes for leverage on selling another version. Hopefully I’ll see them all on the internet sooner or later.

I wonder if at some point they finish (or already have them finished) all the deleted scenes and weave them into a completed cut?
