I knda’ agree, depend’s on how they handle it if it indeed does come to be. But i know that Obi has to be represented somehow in the new Movies. It was very specific and done on purpose that there was not a SINGLE mention of Obi in “Force Awakens”, but his presence was looming over the entire movie with Kylo’s actual name being “Ben”. That was done for a reason. Obi was the best Jedi there ever was, he did leave “The Chosen One” a dis-membered, charred mess.

I really hope that isnt the case. We already have enough Star Wars “inbreeding” as far as the characters go. Not everyone has to be related to someone important to have an impact of their own. It just seems so unoriginal, especially if they are really laying down the groundwork for another “I am your father/mother/brother/sister/aunt” moment. The entire franchise’s most unexpected and freshest twist in ESB will suddenly become a running joke not unlike: I got a bad feeling about this….and thats something I really dont want to see happen.

I’ll find the interview that someone from Lucasfilm (i think) let it out about why there is no Obi Wan Movie in the Works. Think it was a writer, but when he talked about why no one is even writing an Obi Story to shop to Disney, they said that Disney is stating that the Character is currently “off-limits” because beacuse his story will be told in the Trilogy Movies, and until that is done, they are not sure where the Character will leave off depending on how the Movies go. But this back half of Rebel’s will start laying the supposed groundwork for the Obi/Sabine/Rey connection.
