I’m a first-gen SW fan and would like a new run of vintage from 2017 until 2027. The 2017 figs should have a removable 40th sticker and then just regular cardbacks from then on. Do this now and I don’t need anything exciting for the 50th aniv.

Really? You don’t think there are enough fans of the OT and PT along with TFA and RO fans to support a full line of saga figures? I’m not remembering the details of the full lineup of TAC ’07 figures, but I’m fairly certain a large portion of them were either all-new or retools with different parts to make them something we didn’t already have. I realize repacks are a necessary evil to maintain costs or to get something on the market quickly, but I don’t believe those 4 figures offered anything to get long time fans excited. Vader and Chewie did fine in my area. “Vader always sells” and Chewbacca doesn’t seem to get all that many releases, so there was still a market (plus he could be a perfectly fine stand in for TFA Chewie). Luke and Han were absolutely Ep. VI specific. Repacked Luke from a cut scene would have limited appeal and that Trenchcoat Han or one very close to it had been released at least half a dozen times before. Those were the ones that really hung around. I honestly believe that first wave was stopgap figures. If you were to ask any long time fan for a list of figures they would like to see – all-new, re-tools and repacks – I’m sure they’d have no problem filling up a year-long lineup and be excited about them.

I’m definitely for the vintage line returning…. but right now, I don’t know if there is enough characters from the 2 movies to sustain a full line that goes year round just yet. I can understand some wanting to see a much broader line of SA 3.75 figures again, but they re-released many of them like Luke, Han, Vader, Chewy, etc under the black series, and those figures kind of sat on the shelves. I can still pick up many of those. So, i’m not sure what the demand is for OT SA figures anymore.
