I meant if the 6″ early bird kit actually has the same four figures as the original. They’d all be repacks and probably cost $80 or more. I should’ve made that more clear. Sorry 🙂

Yes, it is a total bummer that there is nothing in 3.75″ except repacked Ponda Baba (thrilled!), Proto Fett, Sandtrooper and Tusken.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Why the recent release of Leia, Old Ben and Threepio if they are re-releasing them on these cards a month or so later? But… now we come to find out they are all being released in the TBS boxes as well (if I read that right). So really I guess it’s just more options. Collectors can buy them however they prefer. And Hasbro will undoubtedly score some additional sales on fans who must own both.

I like the recreation of the Early Bird stand in 6″ scale and will be buying it to display my figures. $20 on for the stand on top of $20 for Vader may seem excessive to some, but I’m alright with it.

What are you referring to with the “$80 set of repacks”?

So they could have fit the bubbles on the cards without moving the SW logo and character name? Paul, is this line meant to be the long promised return of TVC?

So many repacks, though. They never should’ve released Leia, Ben and Threepio if they knew these were coming. Even the Tusken is getting released in a standard TBS box. I don’t have Leia, Obi-Wan or OT Threepio, so for me Luke, Han Chewie, Artoo and Stormtrooper are figure I already have. But many people have the other three I mentioned bringing it to a total of eight out of twelve repacks for a major SW anniversary. Vader looks great, but apparently he’s $40 because of the stand. I don’t get the idea of a new early bird kit if the point is to recreate the old packaging. I don’t think an $80 set of repacks would’ve done well. I’ll certainly be getting some of this stuff, but it’s really a bummer that there’s nothing in 3.75″ except those Titanium statues.

I saw wave 1 once at TRU and i thought i’d wait for the price to go down, not realizing they’d not show up again. At the same time i saw them in a sci fi but were more expensive. Never saw them again after that. I think a lot of people outside the US missed out on the first wave.

Let’s hope these are all “easy” to find.

I think people just need something to complain about. Let’s get real. Fans were going to complain no matter what. They will settle for nothing less than an EXACT replica of the original Kenner cards of their youth. They will complain about the 40th Ann. logo on these, they will complain about the warning label and they will complain about the back not being a replica of the Kenner 12-back back. Ultimately these are not even 3-3/4 inch figures, so the fans are guaranteed to complain regardless.

No, I think it’s just you who got a new head. 😉 Seriously though, the headsculpt looks the same to me. If anything the paint apps may be ever so slightly different due to it being a separate production run.

Question: Did TBS 6″ wave 1 R2-D2 not shelf warm in the U.K.? They were piling up everywhere around here.
