I got the Obi-Wan and I actually like it. I haven’t seen Vader, but the others are pretty bad. I had the same idea about only getting 3.75″ stuff for TLJ, but I’d still get the 5poa figures. If we only bought 3.75″ SA this year that would only be two Walmart waves. From the current wave, I only need Walrusman and possibly the Sandtrooper. No, 3.75″ figures are my focus, regardless of articulation and especially when a new movie is released. The 6″ stuff is too HTF and not worth the money. Every time I get one for $10 on clearance I actually feel like I got my money’s worth. I recently got the updated Rey with the lightsaber and unmasked Kylo 6″ for $10 each. The new figures are just a total pain to find. Only online pre-orders guarantee that you’ll get each figure, and I used to buy figures a few at a time to help cost it out. I can’t afford to order entire cases, especially with figures I already have in Hasbro’s horrible case assortments. There’s some cool 6″ stuff coming, but there’s always a problem with either quality, distribution or cost. For example, I actually like that Centerpiece Tantive IV corridor. But why add electronics and charge $50? The included Vader statue is puzzling to me. Why not include a RFT with the set and no electronics? Charge $40 or so. That way we could actually recreate the hallway scene and it might get people to buy more Stormtroopers.

I agree. My suggestion is not to drop a dime on anything this year that isn’t 3.75″ and articulated and prepare for TVC next year. Those 40th Anniversary diecast figures really are not worth opening. If you have to, just get a mint box and keep it sealed.

I get the feeling that the goal is to just saturate the market and make all the product unavoidable, so that something will catch the eye of casual fans, or people who know somebody who’s a fan, and generate impulse buys. I can’t imagine there are too many serious collectors and serious fans of the Star Wars (who generally know what product is out there at any given time) that would be purchasing all this junk.

Well said, Rum. Too much stuff. It also bugs me that most of these lines seem to have at least one or two items that look ok to me. The Disney Premium Elite Deathtrooper looks awesome and the others don’t look bad either, but I just don’t have the time, money or space for t please another linescale. The Disney die-cast figures mostly look terrible to me, but even that line has a couple that look ok. As for the Titanium statues, I have yet to see Vader in person, but he actually looks ok to me. I actually got Obi-Wan and I have to admit I like it. They had the others except Vader but the paint was bad on all three. I just wanted SOMETHING in 3.75″ with the 40th logo and I’ll probably get Vader to go with Ben. Imo, the worst thing about the line is the price. I’m usually a die-hard rule of two collector, but there was no way I was paying $30 for two Obi-Wans so I just got the one and opened it carefully. The sculpts on the Titaniums aren’t bad. But the main thing, aside from price, is that they just aren’t necessary. Why not just release repacks of the original twelve in 3.75″? Like I said, I only got Titanium Ben because i wanted a 40th “figure” in my preferred scale. With the return of TVC, releasing the original twelve could have killed two birds with one stone. Give 3.75″ collectors something to enjoy for the 40th while at the same time building awareness and excitement for the TVC return. They even could have had a mail-away away campaign to get people to buy all 12. Like the stand or a figure. In fact, I think the 6″ stand should’ve been a mail-away promotion. It’s not worth $20. As you say, too much stuff and most of it isn’t needed. If the Titanium statues go on clearance I’ll probably get the set, but only because it’s the only 3.75″ product(aside from the Disney parks ArtooThreepio set) available for the 40th.

Yeah more of the 10″ would be great. I like these but held off on buying since the prices are dropping all the time… And they have only out 7 dolls so its not a huge selection.

LOL, I’m thinking about using some sort of spray glue in the joints to see if that works.
