Since I was a kid, I’ve associated Star Wars with the holiday season because of years and years and YEARS of Star Wars Christmas gifts, the movies being something that the entire family can agree on having on during get-togethers, more toys,…. so many more toys, and of course, the Holiday Special.

Star Wars may have been a May franchise, but they’ve always felt like Christmas movies to me. And the first time I saw the teasers for The Force Awakens, and seeing December 2015 as the release date, it felt really good. Then this happened: https://youtu.be/sGbxmsDFVnE?t=1m18s And I still get chills hearing that music and seeing ‘This Christmas’. And then when I saw The Last Jedi, and was driving home afterwards with the radio on the Christmas music station, maaan that is a great feeling. And I loved it the next year, and I love it again this year. (cough I hope they delay Han Solo cough) And I will love it again for Episode IX. And here’s hoping when they make that frontier/western style movie about Obi-Wan and Owen vs either Tusken Raiders or moisture rustlers that I keep wishing on stars for.

Err, tl;dr- I’m good with this news.

It was back in the day. But I think Disney has successfully made it December now. And thats good since May/June have been the other big blockbusters like Marvel, etc.
