I work in a R&D lab and we code all of our projects, once they make it to a production environment, then they re-name it to what the product actually is. Some of our codes, were mountain ranges [mammoth, sierra, etc] which had nothing to do with the product. And no, we don’t do it to piss our customers off.

Why can we not be privy to the knowledge what figures are coming out when we already know some of the characters. I get it… they don’t want spoilers, but Han, Lando, Chewy, Beckett, Kira are already names we have. The name on a paper does not give anything away on this movie. Unless one of the characters is named “guy who kills Beckett” code names for these are simply there to keep huge fans from getting any information because the average person doesn’t care.
Good Idea! Let’s code name everything just to tick off our biggest fans….. 😐
