We have set up a time to meet with Hasbro for a one-on-one interview/QnA session immediately following the Celebration VI presentation on Friday, Aug. 24. Beside the obvious, where are the figures? and distribution questions, what would you like us to ask them? We only have 10 min with them so not every question submitted can and/or will be asked, but you can post your question(s) here in comments section, on facebook or in our forums for consideration.

Our friends at Echo Base News have learned in their latest QnA session with Hasbro, that Jedi Master Pong Krell is indeed coming to the Clone Wars line. An ETA isn’t given but one would hope/expect that this will be one of the few new figures revealed for 2012 at Toy Fair.

The Yakface/Hasbro QnA returns this week with the last set of answers for 2011. In this session we learn the details of the Vintage Jar Jar and the status of Grand Moff Tarkin.

Q1. At NYCC, you debuted the kid friendly “Movie Heroes” assortment of figures and in it you premiered the new Jar Jar figure. Will this be the same Jar Jar that will be re-carded and de-accessorized (for $1 more) in the Vintage line? Since the Vintage Jar Jar was mysteriously absent from the Hasbro booth at NYCC, can we get a nice high res sneak peek at the proposed Vintage carded version?

A1. The Jar Jar in the Vintage Collection will be an all new super-articulated figure and different from the figure in the Movie Heroes line..

Q2. Dear Hasbro , When are you going to finally put out Grand Moff Tarkin from A New Hope on a Vintage Card? That figure has been rumored to be on a vintage collection cardback for years since the vintage collection line started and we still haven’t gotten it yet. When can we expect to see its release and what accessories will he include? Will he be released in the 2012 Movie Heroes assortment as well? And since we’ve waited so long, how about an image of the carded figure????

A2. We agree that Grand Moff Tarkin is an excellent candidate for a carded Vintage Collection figure…expect more details at New York Toy Fair..

Adam Pawlus over at Galactic Hunter confirmed in their latest QnA that collectors’ fears of the delayed Obi-Wan with Attack Shuttle and Boba Fett with Speeder Bike Figure with Vehicle sets, first revealed at Toy Fair 2011, have been cancelled or are “no longer in the line”.

The Yakface/Hasbro QnA returns this week with questions submitted on 10/21. In this session we learn the status of an open belly Tauntaun and details regarding the upgraded AAT.

Q1. With the release of the newest Tauntaun, it appears that you have sculpted it with possibility of an open-belly version in the future. Question is, since the cavity in this new version is too small to fit Luke’s legs let alone a majority of his body, what will you be doing with to remedy that issue. Will the new Hoth Luke have removable legs so you can just stick his upper body in there to re-create the scene or are you going to have an alternate belly piece that has Luke sculpted to it that can be switched out for added play value?

A1. The new Hoth Luke does not have removable legs.  We are not planning the open-belly version at this time.

Q2. At NYCC, you mentioned that the upcoming AAT has been retooled. Are there any images or additional details you can share now before it’s release so we can get the word out to folks as to why to buy this new and improved version???

A2. The AAT has a newly tooled cockpit that can now seat 2 Battle Droids plus an additional Battle Droid inside the turret.

Hasbro informs us that the answers for the questions we submitted back on 9/16, that were originally scheduled to be back to us on 10/13, then rescheduled for delivery after NYCC, have been officially cancelled. New questions were due to them this morning and those will be returned to us (hopefully) on November 7th. We’ll see…..

The Yakface/Hasbro QnA returns this week with questions submitted on 6/24. In this session, we attempt to get a better answer regarding the Rebel Fleet Trooper’s missing holster and an attempt to get look at card art for upcoming Vintage Collection figures (denied).

Q1: Let’s try this again. Why doesn’t the new Vintage Rebel Fleet Trooper have a holster?

A1: While it’s true that some (not all) of the Rebel Fleet Troopers seen in ANH had holsters, we wanted to give the figure as much versatility as possible. In that regard we made the choice to include the hat and leg strap to make the figure also accurate to the way they appear during the Medal Ceremony.

(EDITORIAL: Then why not just include a removable holster????)

Q2: With SDCC only weeks away and news leaking (daily/weekly) through fan sites, eBay auctions, and “officially” unannounced product hitting retail shelves outside of the US (*cough* TVC Y-wing *cough*), how about throwing us an “official” bone? Can we get carded (final) images of the Vintage Collection Dr. Evazon, Ponda Baba, Bastila Shan, Nom Amor, Kithaba, Aayla Secura and the 501st Clone Trooper figures? Pretty please with sugar on top?

A2: San Diego Comic-Con is almost here…just a little while longer…

The Yakface/Hasbro QnA returns this week with questions submitted on 5/27. In this session get official answers regarding the details of the Rebel Fleet Trooper and his missing accessories and a non-answer answer regarding upcoming waves of figures.

Q1: The new TVC Rebel Fleet Trooper has been one of the most eagerly anticipated retools for many years. Now that he is finally upon us (if we can find him), what was the reasoning behind including the “blink-and-you’d-miss-it” cap accessory versus giving him an actual functioning holster – a detail present (although only for show) on the previous 1997 POTF2 and 2001 POTJ sculpts? Also what happened to the staff that he was pictured with at Toy Fair? Is this all a Sith plot to double dip with this mold later and include the holster and the staff in some future release??? Expectant collectors want to know!

A1: We wanted to make him the best trooper possible, so we added accessories in order to allow him to be the Tantive IV figure or from the awards ceremony.  The staff was planned to be included but it did not fit into the Vintage Collection package.  Or, Darth Sidious informed us that the staff was not needed…

Q2: E-tailers have been updating their pre-orders with a cargo hold of new product in the past few weeks, but there has been a curious observation with some of the Vintage Collection waves. It seems that certain waves have leap-frogged over others in terms of order of release and some figures are nowhere to be found (Aayla Secura, Dr. Evazon, Echo Base Trooper, Nom Anor, etc.). Obviously rearranging has to be done from what was planned at the beginning of the year due to unforeseen delays or other factors like the incorporation of the Revenge of the Jedi recards. Can we get an approximate wave breakdown/contents/release order list for the remainder of the year?

A2: New figures are on the way!  New waves Vintage figures will be hitting stores throughout the rest of the year.  The contents of specific waves often change based on development schedules and consumer demand, so we would prefer not to publish a list of specific figures by wave for the rest of the year.
