A long time ago, in an alternate retail reality, fresh Star Wars product could be found at Walmart stores throughout the galaxy.

For the first time in many moons, my local Walmart is showing some positive signs – not only with a fresh reset, but actually stocking some new product AND the Star Wars section is now positioned at the front of the toy aisle as opposed to hiding near the back.

Not gonna lie… I felt like a kid there again for a brief moment. Pretty nice to feel a hint of that magic here and there.

Will this be a better year for Star Wars at retail? I’m not sure I’d bet the moisture farm on it, but I snapped a handful of close-up pics (including some new non-Star Wars items in the toy reset that caught my eye). Check them out here after the jump!

The latest and greatest wave of TVC is starting to pop up at some Target stores in the US, and Entertainment Earth has begun shipping pre-orders. Be on the lookout, and good luck!

Walmart’s newest wave of exclusive TVC figures are now shipping via online orders. However, it seems it may be difficult to find cardbacks in pristine condition once again thanks to Walmart’s handling of their product.

Plus, be very careful with the Tusken Raider’s right hand… seems many copies of the figure suffer from the joint being fused, which means these may easily snap.

If you pre-ordered Entertainment Earth’s exclusive Gaming Greats Electrostaff Purge Trooper TVC figure back in the Spring, be on the lookout as these are now showing up on doorsteps.

I think most of us would agree that hunting for TVC at retail is almost always a complete waste of time and has been for quite a while. There are of course ways to somewhat easily acquire new figures online however, or even through online marketplaces like Mercari (which I am now addicted to).

Today, I had an unexpected surprise by scoring a trio of TVC Shadow Stormtroopers at a local collector shop basically for standard retail… sure the figure is just a repaint, but it’s better than staring at empty pegs. It actually made my day to upgrade my Shadow Stormtroopers finally, and the cardback looks awesome too.

That being said, what are your most recent acquisitions?

If you have a Gamestop store in your neck of the woods, it might be worth your time to see if they have any TVC X-Wings in stock – their Daily Deal has this item with an incredible markdown… only $18.99 + tax.

Hasbro added a little feature to the TVC Tantive IV playset that is easy to overlook… an envelope containing ten (10) removable foot pegs is included.

The envelope is not very obvious, so make sure you look for it before disposing of any packaging. There are also slots under the floor panel to store them.

Collectors can now pose their figures in dynamic poses without interfering with the overall aesthetics of the set. Thank you to our readers / forum members for calling this out.
