I would like to let all of you know that there has been a lot of hype on EBAY about the Jawa with and with out holes in the feet. Some calling one or the other RARE. Well, after the numerous emails I have received, it seems both are shipping in MASS quantities. I myself have seen about 30 cases distributed in the past 2 weeks to various locations here in MI, with both versions being found. Lucasarts is on the list of developers for the Playstation 2, set to debut in Japan in March and in the Fall for the US. Playstation2 is the next incarnation of Sony’s popular Playstation game console and is really going to be a multimedia console with the ability to playback DVD movies and audio and in 2001, the ability to go on the internet via a cable modem. With the addition of Lucasarts on the already long list of developers for the system, look for the likely possibility of Indiana Jones and Star Wars games on the Playstation2.<\/p>\n

Hasbro Suffering From Episode 1 Sales<\/b>

Randy sent in some interesting news he saw on CNN, “I was watching CNN Newstand and their topic was “Stock of the Week” featuring Hasbro. Since the Episode 1 merchandise hit the shelves back in May 3rd, their stock has been decreasing slowly as the months go by. Hasbro was given a $600,000 something deal for Star Wars. But from the looks of it, Hasbro might be coming to a downfall after the year 2000.”<\/p>\n

I would suspect the main cause of this is the overproduction of many Episode 1 toys. A lot of them are just sitting on the shelves and are not selling. Hasbro already had to take back stagnant figures and they no doubt lost a lot of money already. Also most kids are ignoring Episode 1 in favor of the mega popular Pokemon toys, which is also owned by Hasbro. It will be interesting to see how Hasbro (and other companies like Pepsi) handle Episode II merchandise after the disappointment of Episode I merchandise sales.<\/p>\n

No Chancellor Valorum in Episode II, Amidala in III<\/b>

Terence Stamp has said in a recent interview that he has not been asked back for Episode II and he suspects he will not be in Episode II, meaning Chancellor Valorum is finished for good. Also Cinescape Online reports Natalie Portman will be in Episode III, contrary to some mis-information recently circulating around the net.<\/p>\n

According to a rep at FAO Schwarz, look for the Faamba and Gungan Warrior set around Christmas time this year. The game is Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and is basically a port of the PC version. The Outer Rim<\/a>\u00a0has managed to get a pic of the prototype of the new Jedi Luke figure packaged with the Tatooine Skiff vehicle coming out next year. Also on the site is some new info about the Skiff itself including the length and some of the play features. Check it out!<\/p>\n
