Here we are treated finally to a modern sculpt of Qui-Gon Jinn who gets the full SA treatment; Bultar Swan from AOTC and Luke Skywalker from the New Jedi Order. While the Jedi themselves are great figures, this set really skimps on the extra accessories as compared to other Evolutions sets from the past. We are only given one Jedl robe for Qui-Gon and that’s it. I expected at least some common Jedi field accessories like a another robe or cloak, a communicator or holoprojector, aquabreather and extra lightsaber hilts for each Jedi.<\/p>\n

\nThe Toyguide updates today with another figure from “The Force Unleashed” line:\u00a0Battle-Damaged Darth Vader<\/a>. This rendition of Vader has apparently taken a severe beating from Rebel Alliance forces – the exact how and why will be revealed in the upcoming TFU novel and game. He features several damaged removable armor bits as well as a tattered cape. Overall it’s a decent figure, but the concept to me further strips away the invincibility and lore that Vader had for me as a kid, but to each his own.<\/p>\n

FYI: The camera doesn’t lie. Vader’s shoulder and chest armor has a gold\/yellowing tint to it. No word as to why, but I’d chalk it up to it being subjected to extreme heat during battle.<\/b><\/p>\n

I’m not sure if it was announced, yet. I’ve been laid up from surgery and then the stomach flu. I’m good now. But I haven’t been on the net until today and I was trying to see if anyone posted info about LOTF: Revelation, it came out on Feb. 26th, I think or around there. Anyway I’ll be ripping through it, barring house work, feeding cats, vaccuming, you know all that crappy stuff we have to do in order to maintain a house and pets and my wife.
\nAlso within a few months Michael Reaves, will be publishing the first of the trilogy Coruscant Nights: Jedi Twilight, you can check out that and the sequels Street of Shadows and Patterns of Force plus more at\u00a0star wars.com<\/a>
\nOn a lttle side note those of you who are into G.I. Joe as well as Star Wars, the new TRU exclusive battle packs are showing up. One is Snake-Eyes against the Red Ninjas and the other is Cobra Night Watch, very cool sets! And Halo 3 figures are out(Wal-Mart, GameStop), Master Chief, Cortana, CQB Soldier, EVA Soldier, red and blue Spartans as well as a white one. They have the Brutes, Unngoy and those bird-like sniper guys, these figures are really cool and detailed and come with accessories. They also have the Warthog, a Ghost and the Chopper, but they are small, but cool.
\nSo I’ve got to get cracken on this book review. BTW, the battle damaged Vader from force unleashed is one of the coolest and one of the most detailed figures I’ve seen. I was lucky and purchased a case from Toynk, a local toy shop that sells Sideshow stuff as well as a lot of Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and much, much more. \nThe Toyguide updates today with the first figure from the perpetually delayed and now sadly over-hyped “The Force Unleashed” line:\u00a0Imperial EVO Trooper<\/a>. This particular breed of trooper has “specialized” armor that gives the EVO Trooper the ability to enact the Empire’s tyranny over star systems with the harshest of climates. He’s armed with a fl\u00e9chette launcher (Sandtrooper Rifle) that essentially fires shrapnel to maximize lethality. He also packs 2 small (Clone Commander-style) blaster pistols, which don’t fit in his hands very well nor does he have holsters to stow them.<\/p>\n

The figure itself has a very\u00a0McQuarrie-esque<\/a>\u00a0feel to its design: from the gray\/white color scheme and angular chest armor to the general shape of the helmet.<\/p>\n
