Toys R Us Battle Packs Featured At Hasbro<\/b><\/span>

Hasbro’s\u00a0Star Wars site<\/a>\u00a0has updated with both boxed and loose images of Toys R Us Exclusive Hoth Patrol and STAP Attack battle packs. While these are largely reissues (even the pilot Battle Droids on the STAPs are a repaint of the battle droid mold, or an upgrade to the E1 pilot Battle Droids, depending how you look at it), there still worth a look, and the STAPs especially have some very nice packaging.\u00a0Check it out here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe collecting community has been watching the progress of new Star Wars collectibles licensee eFX with great interest, and we were rewarded this week with the announcement of the first product from eFX–a full scale Stormtrooper helmet. Given how sought after the Master Replicas version of this helmet is, and with only 500 being released by eFX, this is sure to be a very hot seller. eFX CEO Bryan Ono sat down with us this week to talk about the Stormtrooper helmet, what’s the same as the MR version, what’s different, and how both domestic and international collectors can get their hands on it.<\/p>\n

Also this week, for years Star Wars collectors complained that the Hasbro and Kenner TIE Fighters had wings that were too small, too out of scale with the cockpit to be movie accurate. Then in 2005 Hasbro responded by giving us a Target exclusive “big wing” TIE Fighter. For years, Star Wars collectors complained that the Hasbro and Kenner TIE Fighters were blue, not at all the color they appeared to be on screen. In 2005 Hasbro responded by giving us a gray TIE fighter. From there things can only get worse… Hasbro started to mix and match wing size and colors. Toys R Us recently got in the third exclusive release of the “big wing” TIE Fighter, this time in “whitish gray”. How different is it from the previous Toys R Us gray fighter, and from the Target blue fighter? We discussion those issues this week.<\/p>\n

Also this week we look at the latest Target exclusives in both 3.75″ scale and for the Galactic Heroes. From Mustufar to Kashyyyk to Endor, there are battle packs galore, and with a new Jedi starfighter to boot! Which of these items are worth the money and which should you wait to get red tagged?<\/p>\n

The Franklin Institute is currently hosting the traveling exhibit “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination” and invited PSWCS to host this panel to enhance the Star Wars experience at the museum. Five members of PSWCS will share their passion and expertise in Star Wars collecting, and will display an assortment of their collectibles for your perusal. The event is free, but if you’d like to attend, the Franklin Institute asks that your register ahead of time, as seating is limited.<\/p>\n

We have organized a group, Team Cassiebug, that is raising funds and would greatly appreciate any help anyone is willing to give. Our team goal is to raise $1,000 for our efforts and I wanted to make it fun by throwing a little Star Wars into the mix. If we can raise $500 I will wear my Stormtrooper Armor in the walk, but if we hit our goal of $1,000 I will wear my Darth Vader Costume. Also my wife and her friends have set up some auctions on Ebay and 100% of the proceeds will go towards the CF Foundation. They can be viewed\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n

While watching the Star Wars Saga on Spike TV tonight, they had an interview with game designer Haden Blackman and he revealed that we get to play as Darth Vader himself during the first level of the game.
