\nThe\u00a0Yakface Toyguide<\/a>\u00a0updates today with the recently released\u00a0Ki-Adi-Mundi and Sharad Hett<\/a>\u00a0Comic Pack.<\/p>\n

Based upon their appearance in Dark Horse’s Star Wars Republic: “Outlander” comic, Ki-Adi-Mundi and Sharad Hett (who looks a lot like\u00a0Michael Ironside<\/a>) feature new sculpts (for the most part) with the all the necessary articulation – aside from Sharad’s slash cut elbow joints and the absence of ankle joints on both figures. Ki-Adi-Mundi features a removable breathing mask* and hat, where as Sharad Hett** includes a removable Tusken Raider head covering, a gaderffi stick and red version of Kit Fisto’s green lightsaber.<\/p>\n

*For ease of assembly, it’s best to remove Ki-Adi’s head and attach the breathing mask from the bottom of the head. It will help to prevent the possibility of damaging the mask’s strap. Also, there is a small tab on the strap of the mask that fits into a small hole\/depression on the back of Ki-Adi’s neck to aide in alignment.<\/p>\n

**Sharad Hett reuses the arms, legs, lower tabard and Tusken hood from the A’Sharad Hett figure from the\u00a0TAC Comic Pack.<\/a><\/p>\n

Toyguide Update: Entertainment Earth Joker Squad<\/b><\/span>

\nThe\u00a0Yakface Toyguide<\/a>\u00a0updates today with the recently released Exclusive\u00a0Joker Squad<\/a>\u00a0fromEntertainment Earth<\/a>. Pulled from the comic pages of Star Wars Legacy 4: Noob, this squad of stormtroopers was commanded by Lord Maleval nearly 140 years after the Battle of Yavin.<\/p>\n

We were first teased by these figures nearly a year ago in May 2008, and I think it’s a pretty good set overall. Lord Maleval is an all new figure that reuses the head developed for the\u00a0Quarren Warrior<\/a>\u00a0in the Legacy Collection. He features a removable cloak containing a wire around the neck and bottom hems to assist posing. He also features a full complement of articulation and includes a lightsaber and shock whip*. The male stormtroopers in this set are all basically the same as the VOTC version, apart from their unique head sculpts and white holsters. Sadly, due to the varying sizes and shapes of the heads, some of the removable helmets fit better on some than on others. Sergeant Harkas is the worst offender in that regard. We’re also treated to the first female stormtrooper with Jes Ginstang, and she doesn’t disappoint.<\/p>\n

\nThe Star Wars Radio Dramas are held in high regard by a large number of Star Wars fans. Once considered by Lucas himself part of the Star Wars canon, these Brian Daley penned audio dramas greatly expanded upon the original two Star Wars movies in the 80’s. Released on CD in regular and Special Edition format in the 90’s, the original broadcast of Star Wars was broadcast in 1981, and then again in 1983 when The Empire Strikes Back was released on National Public Radio. However, in the 1983 rebroadcast many scenes and character moments were cut from the Star Wars radio drama, and when the radio drama CDs were released in the 90’s not all of the cuts were reinstated.<\/p>\n

This week on Star Wars Action News, we have producer David C. Fein who brings to us from the original 1981 airing of the radio drama the two dialogue scenes cut from Star Wars and not included in the CD releases. Unless you recorded the Star Wars Radio Drama off the radio in 1981, Star Wars Action News is the only place to hear these two scenes, including Luke and Cammie talking about their dreams in anchorhead, and an extended version of Obi-Wan and Luke talking after the Tusken Raider attack.<\/p>\n

\nDuring the TAC line, there were a few rumors floating about that there was an alternate head sculpt available for the Deena Shan figure from the\u00a0TAC Lt. Jundland & Deena Shan<\/a>\u00a0Comic Pack. I was able to find said variant and my local Wal-Mart this weekend. The head sculpt differs greatly from the original, though most obvious is the inclusion of the hair “bun” on the back of her head. The overall shape of the head\/face is larger necessitating a larger removable hat as well. Entering is very simple. All you need to do is post your collection at GGC. Look for the pinned topic at the top of the board if you need us to host your images and we will be happy to do so. Free forum registration will be required to post. At the end of the month we will lock up that section and Gentle Giant Ltd will pick the Collection of The Month and award a prize to the winner.<\/p>\n

Gentle Giant Ltd will try to fill a void in the winning collection by sending the winner an item they don’t have (if possible). Or another new or archived Gentle Giant LTD product for Free to the winner! Every month, a new collection will be chosen. You will be able to enter each and every month, but only one win ONCE per 12 month cycle.<\/p>\n

Please note this is a Gentle Giant Collection of Month, so while images will be accepted of mixed collection rooms, please only include images that are predominately Gentle Giant Ltd items (Mini Busts, Statues, Bust Ups, Maquettes, Figures, etc).<\/p>\n

There is no specific criteria for the Gentle Giant Collection of the Month. All Collections, big and small, are welcome. Gentle Giant LTD will be mixing up how they pick the collection from month to month to make sure all collectors have a chance at winning.<\/p>\n

So dust off your Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Corpse Bride, Matrix, Terminator and many other great Gentle Giant Collectibles and post your pictures! There is a limit of four (4) pictures per collection, per month.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
