First, thank you for sending in your votes! In total, we received top 10 lists from 20 different Star Wars fansites from around the web. We have weighted all of the submissions, and there were many great suggestions with a great deal of alignment on the most popular choices. The top 20 are below. Also, here are some interesting statistics: There were 67 individual characters submitted. The six top characters were also the ones receiving the votes from the most sites.Of the actual top 20 vote-getters, only three were rulled ineligible because these figures were already planned to come out in their original form or will be updated in 2008.\u00a0Those figures are Durge, the EU Spacetrooper, and Amanin alien.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0(Hmmm…let the speculation begin…)<\/p>\n

However, there has been a 1-week delay while we redo our Hasbro polling software to handle multiple votes. Currently, our polling software allows fans to vote for only one selection from any given list. Instead, we are redoing the software to allow fans to vote for up to 5 figures. As a result, we are hoping (it may not be exact) that the poll will start 1 week from today. We’ll send out a notification when it does begin so you can let your viewers know. The poll will run for two weeks, so everyone will still have plenty of time to vote. Please let your fans know that we will go live next week.<\/p>\n

EntertainmentEarth<\/a>\u00a0has received word that there will be 3 more intentional comic pack variant coming in Nov. in Wave 5 rev. 1 cases. They are the Han\/Chewie, Tarkin\/Stormtrooper and Luke\/R2-D2 packs – and the difference is that the Han, Luke and Stormtrooper will be packed without the blue “comic shading” effect – that’s right clean Stormtrooper armor.<\/p>\n

But while it does say there will be no blue paint apps, it says nothing about the red accents on the helmet. So we will have to wait a bit longer for further details. STAY TUNED.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe Toyguide updates tonight with the final figure from Wave 4 and happens to be the latest McQuarrie concept figure –\u00a0Darth Vader<\/a>. Based on Ralph McQuarrie’s signature duel painting, this version of Vader differs slightly from his on screen visage as he includes a scalloped cape similar to Batman, blaster with thigh holster and 2 interchangeable helmets pulled right from McQuarrie’s drawings. About the only problem with this figure is the slash-joint elbows that are prone to popping apart when posing. Aside from that this is one great figure!<\/p>\n

We’d like to send out a special thank you to Yakface reader\u00a0Erik Chavez<\/b>, who recently completed service in the United States military.<\/p>\n

Erik joined the U.S. Army in 2002 and was an infantryman in the 10th Mountain Division for 5 years.<\/p>\n

He completed Airborne School, and was a Team Leader, Rifleman, Saw Gunner, Grenadier, Javaline Gunner, Sniper and Heavy Weapons Gunner, and served two combat tours in Afghanistan in 2003, 2004 & 2006, when he came back home to take care of his mom, who is fighting cancer for the third time.<\/p>\n

Erik also worked in recruiting for a year, and completed his service with the military in July 2007.<\/p>\n

This is the third and final Mark Hamill Signature in the set. You have the Star Wars: A New Hope Signature and the Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Signature now complete the set with the Star Wars: Return of The Jedi Signature Lightsaber.<\/p>\n

The lightsaber Luke Skywalker wields in the Return of the Jedi has a long and complicated history. The hilt worn by actor Mark Hamill, in most of the scenes in the movie where the lightsaber is not ignited, was in fact an old Obi-Wan Kenobi “stunt” lightsaber from A New Hope. The blade was cut off and it featured a longer lever on the center band, a conical knob on the rear above the pommel, and a D-ring attached the lightsaber to a belt clip. Cast in aluminum from a milled wooden master, this lightsaber features uneven heat sink fins which we have recreated in the interest of accuracy.<\/p>\n

For the fighting scenes, a newly machined, but more simplified look-alike version of the above lightsaber was created with a removable blade. A cleaned up version of this lightsaber was used for the close-up insert shot when Darth Vader comments on Luke constructing a new lightsaber. This became known as the “hero” version of the prop because it was featured so prominently in a close-up. The “Version Two” of the prop was altered in post-production to look more like the “hero” lightsaber, possibly in interest of continuity.<\/p>\n

Master Replicas engineers modeled this faithful replica directly from measurements taken from the surviving prop, and recreated the look from the movie with the help of extensive photographic reference materials supplied from the Lucasfilm Ltd. Archives.<\/p>\n

\nAfter a long drought of not acquiring any new product, the Toyguide updates today with the addition of the\u00a0Sandtrooper<\/a>\u00a0from wave 2 of the Saga Legends line. This figure is an uber-dirty repaint of the\u00a0#037 Sandtrooper<\/a>\u00a0released in the TSC line and rather than the black pauldron, it has the white\/gray pauldron, technically giving him the rank of “Sergeant”. Also, this figure includes the EIV movie coin for those (myself included) who are obsessed with completing their coin albums. Look for alternate body and decos of this figure to ship in later case revisions.<\/p>\n
