Today, we take a look at Ree-Yees (#28).

PROS: Clearly the last Ree-Yees you’ll ever need, Hasbro gives collectors their (what I would hope to be) final crack at this figure. The sculpt overall is solid with a great facial expression and a lot of detail given to the quilting of his jacket. The Gran features plenty of articulation (alas, minus ankle joints) allowing for a wide range of poses if desired. He also includes two blaster pistols which he can hold easily due to his large hands.

CONS: Some may consider the head to be too small, but I think that may be due to how large the head was on the original Kenner figure. To me, it seems to have just the right proportions. I’m not a big fan of the “Cheeto stains” they gave to his face, neck and hands – the figure would have been better served having a simpler, more muted color instead. Finally, It would have been a great bone to throw at Vintage fans if he included a weapon more like the 80s Kenner figure or even a drinking glass that he holds in many of his scenes.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume with our next entry in the The Black Series 3-3/4″ line.
