I was able to score the entire “wave 2” assortment of Movie Heroes today from my local Walmart and have been posted a few loose shots of them on Facebook<\/a>. In doing so, I’ve received a few emails regarding the quality and functionality of the Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan with light-up lightsabers in particular. Click on through for some additional details regarding these controversial figures.<\/p>\n

First, the bad news. Each figure include 3 batteries that are NON-REMOVABLE\u00a0<\/strong>and NON-REPLACEABLE. <\/strong>So, once you’ve exhausted their light-up feature, they are done.<\/p>\n

Second, the images showing the figures with the light-up feature enable were achieved by wedging a thin piece of plastic (cut from the bubble) in the figure’s “belt” to keep the activation button depressed. There is no on\/off switch that will enable you to keep the figures’ blades illuminated.<\/p>\n

Third, the images posted on facebook (and the one above) were taken and posted without retouching or enhancement in any way. The blades are very bright in natural light, but even more so in low light conditions.<\/p>\n

While these figures might not be for every collector, they are great as toys and I look forward to future figures in this style.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
