The key is, the time (and skill) that goes into this. Creating the original mold had to be extensive work. Then each kit that is made contains multiple separate pieces. Not sure you have ordered from them before, but factoring in the quality too, and I see this as well worth the $45 asking price.

If you disagree, that’s perfectly fine. But to indicate that because Hasbro could make something like this for about half price as a reason to think the seller is overpricing is plain silly. Perhaps if the seller could mass produce these at a fraction of the cost and sell 20,000 units, I’d agree with you. But that’s not the case here.

Asking me if I could make this item for $20 would be about the same as me asking you if you could make a Jedi Turbo Speeder for $20. As an individual no, and neither could you.

However since these are being made by what appears to be an experienced husband & wife customizing team with probably minimal overhead, once the cast is made, everything after that is pure profit minus the cost of the resin. He is not paying Hasbro, Lucas, or Disney for a licensing fee (but let’s not open that can of worms).

Are you able to make an item like this for $20?

Again, remember this is not mass produced plastic. They are resin pieces created by a customizer; NOT a toy company with the unlimited resources such as an entity like Hasbro.

If the price is too steep for you, that’s one thing. But one can’t compare the production and costing per unit price to what Hasbro would mass produce.

I have to disagree, considering Hasbro could pull this off for around $20 (a little small for a mid-size vehicle). Considering how much effort they put into their vehicles, some that have only been released once (Jedi Turbo Speeder, AV-7 Mobile Cannon, Republic Swamp Speeder, etc.) and how much they have to pay to Lucasfilm/Disney, I think $45 is way too high.

Considering what goes into this effort from start to finish and how professional these are, I think the price is more than fair. These aren’t coming off an assembly line…
