Toyguide Update: Sideshow 12″ Figrin D’an

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the 1:6 Scale Figrin D’an from Sideshow Collectibles.

PROS: Excellent sculpt and paint treatment for the portrait and hands. Instruments are well done. Tailoring of the fabric is on par with most Sideshow releases.

CONS: Although well sculpted where applicable, the $100 price tag seems a bit excessive considering what you get for $20 more in Sideshow’s clone trooper offerings. That being said, I think it will be tough to justify “getting the band back together” if you catch my meaning.

12″ UU Han Solo Available for Pre-Order

Sideshow Collectibles has also placed the 12″ Ultimate Unison Han Solo up for pre-order. This high-end piece features a highly articulated body, detailed outfit based on his appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and includes his signature Endor Trench Coat and breathing mask. Look for it to ship in late 2012.

Toyguide Update: Sideshow Holiday Yoda

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the 1:6 Scale Holiday Yoda from Sideshow Collectibles.

PROS: Proving once again that they are at the top of their game when it comes to high-end Star Wars collectibles, Sideshow faithfully recreates Ralph McQuarrie’s iconic 1981 greeting card painting in three-dimensions. Excellent craftsmanship all around as the deco, fit and tailoring of the “Santa Suit”, and material selection for both the suit and gift sack are top notch. Sideshow also went the extra mile in producing an attractive keepsake gift box designed to appear as though it was wrapped in Star Wars gift paper. The 2011 Holiday Yoda is the perfect gift for not only 12″ collectors, but also fans of McQuarrie’s illustrations.

CONS: None.
